coach shawn o'connell has been a fantastic coach and I have learned lots from him as I continue to work with him I find that I improve more and more each session , not only that but he also finds the things I need to work on to become more advanced as a boxer , I am very thankful to have him as a coach and can't wait to learn more. so thank you coach for sharing your knowledge and helping me get to this point in my boxing journey and making me the boxer I am today!
SidFit Boxing has been an absolutely amazing experience for me personally. From day one, the trainers and members have been so welcoming, supportive, and encouraging. As a beginner, I’ve learned proper techniques and the true art of boxing in a way that feels motivating and confidence-building rather than intimidating. The feedback during classes is great, and the energy in the gym is extremely motivating. Everyone genuinely wants to see each other improve, which makes such a big difference. I also really appreciate how flexible the workout schedule is—you can choose class times that work well even with a busy lifestyle. I’m so excited to continue my journey learning this new sport and to be part of such a positive, supportive gym community. I have been boxing at Syd Fit now for almost a year now and it has been nothing but amazing. It has been the best workout of my life. My coach Shawn has been amazing to say the least. He pushes me to work harder motives me when times are hard and has become more of a friend then a trainer. You can see he has a big passion for the sport and for this gym. I can’t recommend this place enough to everyone that is interested in wanting to come and box.
Boxing by Syd Vanderpool at SydFit Health Center is hands-down one of the best boxing gyms around. The trainers (Syd, Jeff and the whole team) are top notch, they really break down the fundamentals like stance, footwork, jab, and cross, making sure you build a solid foundation. What I love most is that they focus on confidence and skill-building, not just conditioning. Even when coaches are away, they have backup trainers who keep the sessions sharp and consistent. It’s a welcoming, motivating environment, whether you’re new to boxing or looking to level up. Highly recommend this gym for anyone serious about learning the art of boxing!
I started my boxing journey here about 4 months ago, it’s been an amazing experience. The coaches are awesome, Shawn O Connell has taught me so much and he really takes his job seriously. If you need structure and want to learn something new and have fun while doing it, Syd fit is the place to go!! Can’t wait to see what I’m capable in the next year or 2.
