I was very disappointed with my dinner at Takara Sushi. The salmon sashimi was poorly cut — the pieces were very small, uneven, and some looked roughly chopped instead of properly sliced. What made it even worse was that there were fish bones in the salmon, which is completely unacceptable. I eat sushi very often and I’m a true salmon lover, so I know this is not okay at all. The ordering process was also very confusing, as I often ordered one item but received two, while some dishes never arrived. On top of that, the male waiter had poor communication, talked back, and repeatedly took orders incorrectly, which made the entire dining experience frustrating. Considering the price, the quality of both food and service was not worth it at all. When the restaurant first opened, it used to be much better, but the quality has clearly declined. I will not be coming back and do not recommend this place.
Came for the lunch AYCE and the staff was very friendly. Ordering was simple and our food came out quickly. Our server stopped by often to check in on us and get our next orders. Only thing I didn't realize was how much of the rolls were dinner only. Definitely got to come by for dinner now
Takara is the new AYCE spot you need to check out in Las Colinas. As someone who usually prefers super traditional sushi, I was genuinely impressed. For only $28, you get All You Can Eat, and the menu is huge—it even includes sashimi, which is rare for this price point. The value is unbeatable. The atmosphere is great: super chill vibe with good music and nice decor. Our waiter, Carlos, was fantastic and provided awesome recommendations. He convinced me to try the Texas Roll, and despite my usual elitist tendencies, it was genuinely delicious! The Beef Carpaccio appetizer was also a highlight—perfectly done and super flavorful. If you want excellent sushi, amazing service (ask for Carlos!), and incredible value, Takara is the place.
I had an amazing experience at Takara AYCE Sushi! The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and there was a great variety to choose from. Every roll we tried was flavorful and well-prepared, and the all-you-can-eat menu had something for everyone—including delicious appetizers and creative specialty rolls. The service was just as impressive—the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure our plates were always full. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and had a lively but comfortable atmosphere. If you’re looking for quality sushi at a great value, Takara is definitely the place to go. I’ll absolutely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family!
We have been to Takara a few times. It’s an all you can eat Japanese restaurant with a pretty extensive menu. They allow each person to order up to 5 items at a time. They have a really great happy hour that extends to the weekend where most alcohol is half off. They are now currently offering free fountain drinks with their prefixed buffet price. Their sushi is fresh and their other dishes delicious. We have tried the majority of their appetizers but haven’t tried their noodle based menu items yet. The servers are very friendly and once you place your order the food comes quickly. Definitely give this spot a chance when you’re in Irving!
