This place unapologetically centers gay people—and honestly, that’s the whole point. From the door to the dance floor, it feels like a space for us, not a watered-down “everyone welcome but really no one’s comfortable” kind of club. The crowd is actually gay, the music hits because it’s chosen with the community in mind, and there’s zero pressure to explain yourself or perform. You can dance, flirt, exist, and let your guard down. That sense of safety and shared culture is rare and valuable, and this club protects it. If you’re looking for a general nightlife spot, this isn’t it. If you want a genuine gay space that prioritizes its community without apology, this place absolutely delivers. Sometimes exclusivity isn’t about exclusion—it’s about preservation.
If you’re looking for a spot that delivers on vibes, The Arcade absolutely hits the mark. The decor is arcade-themed but with a sleek, upscale twist that makes it feel more like a trendy club in Miami or Ibiza than a novelty bar. The music is a standout. The DJs bring an energy that reminds me of Bagatelle or similar high-end spots in party capitals around the world. It’s not just background noise—it’s a real part of the experience and totally sets the tone for the night. Yes, some reviews mention the drink prices, and yes, they are high, but in line with similar places in the city like Balos or Shoto… what probably shocks some people is the 20% added gratuity. So maybe not a great option if you’re just looking to go get drunk. But, if you’re looking for a place with great music, a lively crowd, and a unique, elevated vibe, The Arcade should be at the top of your list.
The worst club in DC. Service is absolutely horrible and bizarre. I was at the bar with my friend trying to order a drink and the bartender literally took 15 minutes was looking at me, but did not pay any mind. For no reason, they were talking with each other and laughing and just totally ignoring the The customers. I am shocked this type of club even exists in DC
How could anyone come here? (Read full review) I have been to hundreds of true “exclusive” establishments- places with outrageous prices but fantastic quality. this place tries desperately to fall into that category without having any of the production or service value to back it up. The production value of the club is pretty horrible, with a bad sound system and non existent lights. The dance floor is tiny and constantly packed. But by far the worst thing about arcade is the service of those who run it. I booked a table the other night at arcade and the first thing I noticed was how poorly the table lines were organized. chaos, people shoving and pushing and the bouncers / promoters only making it worse. finally i get in amidst the shoving with a flimsy paper green bracelet designating me as having a table. bottle service inside was very slow. i was informed i could leave and have a smoke and come back in with my green bracelet. because of the insane amount of people they had let in, my cheap green bracelet got ruffled in the crowd. when i finally made it to the front of the line again after 30 minutes of shoving the bouncer grabbed my wrist, took my bracelet off, and sent me home — he offered no explanation and refused to speak to me. Don’t make the same mistake I did!
The most insanely priced and overrated bar I’ve ever been to in my decade+ living in DC. $35+ cocktails that were completely average at best. They also added gratuity to every bill, even a 1-drink bar tab. Most egregious of all, they refused us water unless we paid for it. Is that even legal? $10 for a 10oz Evian, absolute madness. Avoid at all costs unless your intention is to waste a lot of money having a mediocre evening.
