Very happy with the Bike Connection in PA! Great customer service and helpful advice. I bought a bike which I was not happy with and they let me trade it in the day after for a different bike. They also let me try a lot of bicycles and were patient as I chose. I will be a returning customer. Thank you!
I called this shop to ask about getting my son’s electric bike tire repaired. For regular bikes, I was told labor is $20. For e-bikes, I was first quoted $30, then $40, and after the employee spoke with a manager, the price suddenly became $50. I want to be clear, I don’t mind paying $50 for labor if that’s the set price. The issue is the lack of clear and consistent pricing. It felt like the numbers were being made up on the spot, which comes across as unprofessional and poor business practice. My suggestion would be to post clear, consistent labor rates for both regular and electric bikes so customers know what to expect. Transparency builds trust. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won’t be bringing my bike here.
I originally left a very negative review after a frustrating experience. I brought my bike in for a brake issue and was told the rotor was ruined; the shop replaced the rotor and brake (~$150) over 2–3 days. The original issue was fixed, but new problems appeared: the chain rubbed a metal guide near the crank in certain gears, and the next day the front caliper locked the wheel. When I returned, I was told the rotor was “ruined” again and quoted another $250+. After I called and spoke with the owner, Nico, he was very communicative and personally diagnosed the underlying problems including issues likely introduced during the first repair. It took about three more days and ~$250 additional work, but the bike is now riding well. I’m happy with the final outcome and appreciate Nico’s follow-through. Constructive feedback: communication is inconsistent across staff. Before repairs, I wasn’t given a thorough analysis of options/costs; after repairs, I didn’t receive a clear recap of what was done. That gap makes it hard to trust the process when new issues arise. My suggestion: assign or hire a front-desk service advisor who can clearly explain diagnosis, present repair options with timelines/costs, provide proactive updates, and give a written post-repair summary. Overall, while the total outlay over two visits was ~$400 and the process took time, the bike is now fixed. With stronger, consistent communication from everyone (Nico sets a great example), the service experience would match the quality of the technical work.
Came here from Redding (4 hour drive) to pick up a BMC Roadmachine. Called them a few times prior, and they were super helpful and knowledgeable, which I REALLY appreciated. I never felt like they were just juggling calls with customers and were just giving me answers to get me off the phone so they could help with the next call on hold! When we showed up, the store was busy, but someone got with me right away. I had actually put some money down on the size they thought i would be in to hold it (was in between sizes), but after a test ride on that bike and the next size up, not one but two employees looked at me on the bike and riding it and suggested the larger. Even though the store was busy, again I never felt like they were rushing to get me out. LOVE this place-they have amazing customer service, it was clean, people there are knowledgeable. Kind of like the Les Schwabb of bike places! Only wish they were closer, but I am going to make the drive again when it comes to tune-up time. You don't find many businesses like this anymore where the people enjoy their jobs and take care of their customers :)
The service at this store is unmatched. They happily and patiently spent so much time with me finding just the right bike to address all my feature/price requirements and to find a bike that fits me perfectly in terms of size. Far exceeded my expectations in terms of service. Most of my time was spent with Nico who was phenomenal, though I also had great interactions with other employees as well. Now I have an awesome new bike I can't wait to ride and they have a new lifelong customer. They also offer a year of free servicing after purchasing a bike along with 1 free tune-up. If you are trying to purchase a bike, I give this place my strongest possible recommendation.
