I waited on hold for about 10 minutes to cancel my cat's appointment. When somebody finally answered, she said “Thanks for holding. How can I help you?” 10 seconds later said “Hello?” and then hung up. I had to call back and wait another 10 minutes. When I called her out, she said she couldn't hear me, but she could have said that instead of just ending the call? That was so rude and unprofessional, and if she were in my position, I'm sure she would feel the same. I get it; they are short-staffed, but it is frustrating to be on the phone for 20 minutes just to cancel an appointment. I needed to wait 20 minutes to not even get 30 seconds of their time. We will not be rebooking our cat’s visit.
Update: Sadly I have to change my positive shining review to one that isn’t so great. I’ve been taking my cat here since december because i knew something was up but with no diagnosis but temperament issues. Which I was prescribed to put my cat on gabapentin daily for. Flash to 3 months later and my cat starts throwing up very dark brown liquid and not eating or using the bathroom. I take her in and the vet only did a check up. Ok fine. She sent me home with anti nasuea meds, and an appetite enchantment pill. They told me to give my cat 100mg of gabapentin before the appointment for her Fear Free meds. I take my cat home and give her the two additional meds as instructed. My cat starts having seizure like behaviour, burying her head into my legs and couldn’t walk and her meow was very very weak. I go on their 24/7 vet tech chat in the app and they tell me to take her to an emergency vet as they told me these meds being mixed could cause this reaction(why wasn’t i warned about this?) 3.5k I spent at the ER. When I got there they were shocked that she was given these meds without additional diagnostics and were able to get to the bottom of it but wanted an additional 5k for the EMERGENCY LIFE SAVING surgery she needed. Flash to me being up all night crying frantically calling vets to see if there’s anywhere that can do this cheaper for 5k. I call kingsway and the receptionist that answered told me it would be the same price with them and hung up. Luckily I was able to find a vet a little farther away that would do it for 2k. When speaking with him he was also shocked that my cat was put on gabapentin for aggression as he informed me there’s so many more options that could have been explored.On my way to the kitchener vet VCA calls me and apologizes for missing this issue. My cat could have died within the week and I don’t take this lightly. Also when I was sitting during my visit I overheard someone being cashed out. “Your first visit is free” I looked into this and VCA has this on their website so I looked into my first ever appointments invoice with them and I was never given a “free” appointment. Sad to say I will not return here and will let friends and family know of this experience. Very very very disappointing after my first experience was so well.
I take both of my cats to Kingsway Animal Hospital and also used them for the care of my late dog. This is by far the best veterinarian clinic. They are all so thorough, compassionate, and explain everything in detail. I also wanted to give a specific shoutout to the ladies at the reception desk, especially Kendall. She is always so kind to speak with on the phone and her transparency with payment is much appreciated. She really takes the time to say hello and acknowledge the pets with the biggest smile on her face!! Thank you so much VCA, you guys rock
I cannot say enough good things about everybody at Kingsway. I followed one of the vets here from a different clinic years ago and have absolutely no regrets. One of my cats has been battling a serious illness for the past 4 months and we wouldn't have been able to get through it without the vets and staff at Kingsway. Not only are they great with all animals, they are the most compassionate team you will ever deal with. The vets have even personally checked up on me (outside of office hours!) as they knew how much I was struggling with my sick kitty. I cannot thank Alanna, Erica, Catherine, and Jennifer enough, as well as the entire team!! Special shout out to Kendall as she's usually the one that receives my frantic voicemails and is always so courteous and understanding when calling me back. They are extremely accommodating, knowledgeable, kind, and passionate. Everybody here is truly an animal lover. If you are looking for a new vet, I can't recommend VCA Kingsway enough!!!! Update: my poor baby girl ended up passing away from her illness, but the support I have received from this clinic got me through the past 4 months. And even today, they sent me flowers, passing along their condolences for her loss. When I say that everybody that works here truly cares about their patients, they really mean it.
The staff here is absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend them enough! They are all super compassionate, friendly and caring and they really go above and beyond for you and your pets. They not only provide amazing service while you're there, but take the initiative to check up with you and make you and your pet feel cared for. Everyone who works here is incredible! ❤️
