When I started looking for a career coach, I didn't really know what a career coach was--I just new I wanted to change my career. Now I think career coach probably means different things for different people, depending on where you are at in your life, and your specific needs. I can tell you for me, I am very pleased that I found Dawn. She has been an excellent guide and mentor through this process. She is incredibly supportive, and also provided very tangible, practical actions to take towards figuring out a career. For me, I found myself networking and researching in ways that may not have thought of without Dawn's help. I was able to really sit down and evaluate my strengths. I was also able to cut through all the reasoning and rationalizing of why something might not work, and get to the heart of what is really important. I appreciated her wholistic approach. Discovering a career is important, but it doesn't happen in a nutshell. Career and personal life are intertwined, and both were discussed with lots of support and understanding. I found Dawn while I was confused and unhappy and afraid to do something about it. I had no idea what to do. Dawn immediately heard me, my fears, my strengths and my passion and together we created a detailed, difficult and extremely rewarding plan for me. I am still in amazement on how much I have changed in such a short period of time. It was challenging but so rewarding and Dawn kept me focused, encouraged, happy and determined the whole way through. Her insight was always spot on and I always learned something new and relevant in our sessions. The group sessions were extremely beneficial and opened my eyes to new things. I found Dawn on Yelp when I was 4 months postpartum and desperate to balance between work and being a first-time mom in this pandemic. I was struggling with several aspects of my life and feeling really lost. I'm so glad that I found Dawn. In a way, she changed my life. In one of our group sessions, we were asked to use one word to describe the person next to you. I described Dawn as an "Educarer". First, she educates and inspires. She challenges my attitudes and perspective, holds me accountable for my micro actions, help me see my career path and set up achievable goals. Then she really takes care of my feelings and emotionally guides me to grow and pivot. She directs me to see the potentials I've never discovered in me and asks questions that are truly mind-opening. After my 90-day plan, I have successfully pivoted my career to a new direction that I'm deeply passionate about. Now I feel I am unstoppable and I will definitely use the techniques Dawn taught me to navigate through future career challenges.
