Yoichi is a really nice and intimate sushi spot with only about 24 seats, which gives it a cozy and personal vibe. I had both the omakase and the 5 roll handroll combo, and the quality was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and I really appreciated that they used real wasabi on some of the omakase pieces. The chefs were great to watch and clearly care about what they are doing. I was able to walk in on a Saturday evening as a solo diner and get seated right away with no wait, which was a pleasant surprise. Service was good overall, but it was not quite as warm or attentive as I expected at this price point. The wait staff came across a bit dry and not super enthusiastic, which slightly took away from the otherwise great experience. The only real downside for me is the price to value ratio. It is definitely on the higher side, and personally I still prefer Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar for the overall experience and value. That said, Yoichi is still a very good sushi restaurant with fresh ingredients and strong execution. Sushi is my favorite food, and I rarely give anything less than five stars, so this feels more like a 4.5 to me if that were possible. Since I have to choose, it is a solid 4 stars. Still absolutely worth trying if you love sushi and want an intimate dining experience with high quality fish.
My closet friend took me to Yoichi recently and it was by far one of the best and unique experiences. Seafood was fresh and top tier. The snowcrab was my personal favorite with the garlic butter melted by torch. Thank you to Yvonne and Jim for providing the best service, so kind and friendly. Honestly the entire staff was amazing but those two made it special! When I’m back in town it will definitely be in my rotation to visit. We ordered a good amount of food it was devoured before we could take more pictures.
We had a spectacular night of omakase! The wait time for two to sit on a Saturday night was not long. We both selected the omakase because it was our first time at this restaurant. We enjoyed miso soup to start, then vegetable katsu (fried okra and Japanese pumpkin,) followed by a scrumptious chef's choice handroll. Our omakase box expanded our palates and allowed us to explore the menu. My favorites were the salmon and hamachi crude, and my husband's favorite was the mackerel from their specials menu. The pacing was perfect, and the service was polite. It was expensive, but so worth it!
Another quality sushi spot in Fort Worth! This place is great, from every member of the staff, to every piece of fish served. Everyone is so friendly. I recommend the Salmon Crudo. Many around us got the omakase, but we just got assorted nigiris - all were fresh and made with love. Keep up the amazing work!
Yoichi is easily my favorite restaurant in Fort Worth! The omakase, handrolls, and crudo were spectacular. My friends got the sushi and they said it was a perfectly balanced, fresh bite. Everything is top tier from the service, to the atmosphere, to the food and staff. I love that you can come in and either spend more $$ on omakase for a special night out OR you can keep it low budget with handrolls, crudo, and smaller bites. The atmosphere felt inviting and intimate sitting at the bar getting to watch the food come together. Chef Ian is the best and has done an incredible job creating such an awesome spot in Fort Worth. I highly recommend the Tuna Crudo and Omakase if you're feeling adventurous. So many complex and well-balanced flavors placed in one bowl! Highly recommend!
