An amazing non-profit art gallery that supports contemporary and conceptual artists. The programs, including InLight - a two-night public art installation, Monster Drawing Rally, and Cabin Fever, are exciting and rewarding. They have a new artist residency program that is fantastic and offers another opportunity for artists to engage with Richmond's art district. They also exhibit work at a satellite location, Linden Row Inn.

Love to see galleries supporting black artists like Malik Radford. Can’t wait to see this on a much larger & intentional scale.

1708 Gallery is one of the fantastic galleries located in downtown Richmond. A great place to check out during First Fridays, or any day, 1708 Gallery always features new art from fresh contemporary artists. Every November they host my favorite Richmond event, InLight, a festival of light based art installations that inhabit a specific part of the city for one night. All in all, 1708 Gallery never fails to present events that engage the community and promote the work of up and coming artists.
