My son and I were in town for the IMTA convention and this restaurant was in walking distance from our hotel. So I made last minute reservations on Open Table and am so glad I did! From the moment we arrived, we felt taken care of. We were greeted in the lobby to confirm our reservation. Then escorted through two separate elevators to reach the restaurant which towered over most buildings. Initially there weren’t any window tables available which was fine with us. We were grateful just to have a last minute reservation. However a window seat opened up halfway through our experience and our server moved us to the table without us even asking. He was always making sure we were having the best experience possible. The service, view and restaurant ambiance were impeccable as was the food! My son and I had the three course experience but also added additional deserts and apps just to try more things. For the first course my son chose the tuna ….which he said was incredibly fresh and the best thing that has ever touched his pallet 😂. I had the pasta and it was incredible. Perfect balance of flavors. It was the best pasta I’ve had in a long time. Then we also shared the octopus which was beautifully plated And delicious but we liked the other two better. Then I had the barramundi and my son had the New York strip. Both were excellent. For dessert, we struggled to decide…. We ended up trying the strawberry, Blueberry, Chocolate dessert, As well as the cheese plate. All incredibly different and good for different reasons. Do you want something light, I would go with a strawberry, Unique flavors blueberry or the chocolate. Overall, it was a very wonderful experience and the best restaurant of our whole trip! Well, done!
I wanna start with their exceptional service, so impressed. Starting from the host and attentive servers. To accelerate your dining experience I definitely recommend to book a table in advance to get window seat. Wine selection is the greatest in the town both old world and Californians options. But I want to shoutout Chef as well, all the courses were amazing I even ordered twice the grilled octopus which was literally melting in your mouth. Chef knows how to cook perfectly. Even though we ordered desserts they complement us some nice unique sweet. Was a nice gesture from this high end venue. can't wait for my next dining experience again here.
Great restaurant on top of Bank of America Building in downtown LA. It is very fancy and chic. You need to book ahead of time. They are very communicative leading up to the day and time of reservation to make sure you are ready for the reservation. I thought that was a great touch on their part. They do not guarantee window tables at all. However when we went they give us a window table. The menu is a 3 course menu. You pick one item for each course. The service is fast and actually the portions are reasonable. We felt full after the 3 courses. The staff is super friendly and nice. It’s a perfect location for a special occasion or date night. They have valet parking or you can find parking in any of the public Parkings in downtown LA. Highly recommend them.
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, everything felt thoughtful and welcoming. We started at the bar with a Buena Park cocktail and a chamomile-based drink, both beautifully crafted, before heading to our table for a three-course meal (starter, main, and dessert), and every dish was outstanding under the direction of Chef Javier. The sommelier was fantastic. she was knowledgeable, warm, and truly elevated the experience (I wish I remembered her name). Our waitress, Kelsey, was phenomenal: attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. Even the team clearing and resetting the tables did so seamlessly and thoughtfully. The ambiance deserves special mention: great background music at the perfect volume, elegant lighting, and beautiful decor that made it easy to relax and enjoy conversation. And of course, the view, seeing Los Angeles from the 71st floor of the US Bank Building is nothing short of breathtaking. An unforgettable evening. Highly recommend for a special night out.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 – Incredible Views & Service, but Food Needs a Few Tweaks 71Above is one of the most visually stunning dining spots in Los Angeles. The ambiance is modern and elegant, and if you’re lucky enough to be seated by the windows, the panoramic views of the city are absolutely breathtaking. Service: The staff was excellent—attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The level of service definitely reflects fine dining standards. Food Review (3-Course Dinner): • Farm Salad – 4/5 Fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully plated. Great way to start the meal. • A5+ Japanese Wagyu – 5/5 (for the steak) Melt-in-your-mouth delicious. One of the highlights of the night. ❗️However, the potato served with it was overly salty and barely enjoyable, which took away from the perfection of the main course. • Desserts – unfortunately disappointing I ordered the Blueberry Pavlova and the Ilanka Chocolate Semifreddo. Both were overpowered by an extremely sour lime component, to the point where they were not pleasant to eat. The flavor balance was way off. ⸻ 🎯 Overall: ✅ Amazing view ✅ Excellent service ✅ Wagyu was unforgettable ❌ Sides and desserts need refinement I’d still recommend 71Above for the experience alone, but I hope the kitchen adjusts some of the flavors so the food can fully match the beauty of the space.
