After completing the Job Search Accelerator Bootcamp, I feel much more prepared for my job search. If you are considering working with Colin Murphy, whether you learn from him in an individual or group setting, I would highly recommend doing so. Prior to working with Colin, I had put my resume out on the market but wasn't able to get much (if any) response. Colin taught me how to present myself in a way companies would find beneficial. I had all the necessary skills and qualifications but none of the prospects due to the technical aspects of resume building and application skills. Colin also took things a step further- he helped me dig deeper into the companies to which I was applying to understand their values. I could identify red flags quickly and better qualify not just companies that wanted me, but companies I would be proud to work for. After a week of working with Colin, I was quickly able to find the perfect position. I passively attracted companies with incredible opportunities and took the best of two simultaneous offers. I’m incredibly grateful for Colin’s wisdom and tutelage.
Having been mainly a stay at home parent for a number of years, I was looking to re-enter the work force but found myself overwhelmed with crafting a resume and LinkedIn profile from scratch. A friend referred me to Colin, telling me that he had helped her immensely in her career change process. She was sure that he could help me, and she was 100% right. Colin's Walk the Walk system is truly effective for crafting a targeted and accurate resume, but equally important to me was the care and attention he put in to helping me metabolize my past experience - paid work, volunteer, and managing a household - so that I could move forward with confidence and optimism in my job search. He asked insightful questions and was full of knowledge and suggestions. I never failed to leave one of our meetings feeling more optimistic and energized than I had been before. I learned more from Colin's classes than I would have on my own because he taught from the perspective of recruiters and employers. He opened up my eyes to some of the details of my LinkedIn profile that makes a difference such as the specifics of a profile photo (current appearance, attire, color of background). His workshops were so helpful in creating a stronger resume and in preparing for that one open-ended interview question that I get stumped by "tell me about yourself." I enjoyed Colin's classes which he taught with attentiveness, passion, and positive energy. I also appreciate that he emailed his slide decks so we can refer to them again when we need it.
