Did the N3P challenge in September 27th and 28th and was amazing. Chris was and is an amazing and true mountain guide. Push you because of time and never gave up on anyone of us doing the challenge. 24hrs wants to be done and with a person like Chris it's not impossible. Physically and mentally he drives you and gets the best out of you which I didn't even know what capabilities I had in me. Kudos to you Chris. Will definitely do it again, as long as you my guide. Even he's assistance, Nicola at Snowden and the one at scafell pike were amazing 👏

Absolutely no Faffing !!! This is the company you want, look no further for a genuine 24hrs 3 peaks challange and an achievement worth having. You will be pushed to you're absolute limit. Chris is an amazing guide without him im positive id have failed to the first hurdle ( Nevis) but he knew how to push me at each point until I crossed the line in 23hrs 39mins. Expect to be shouted at Expect colourful language Expect to be broken and built back up again all in 24hrs. The only company ii would ever use or recommend.

Be ready, there is no faffing in this review - only hardcore facts! We did the Three Peaks Challenge with Active Mountaineering as a team of 10, and it was an epic experience. Everything was super well organised, and the guides were brilliant—supportive, knowledgeable, and kept us going when it got tough. Chris, the owner, might seem a bit intense at first, but his leadership was key. His no-nonsense, no "faffing around", motivated style really pushed us to work as a team, stay focused, and have a great time doing it. Tough challenge, amazing support, unforgettable memories. Highly recommend for any group looking to push themselves and have a blast doing it!

Another great trip with Active Mountaineering! After arriving at Kilimanjaro airport we were met by guide Charlie and our driver David who, despite a huge accident on the only main road to the hotel, delivered us safely where Chris was waiting for us with a cold Kilimanjaro beer… well needed after the first taste of Tanzania “tarmac” roads. The hotels we stayed in before and after the mountain were clean, and the first even had a lovely pool. The food is exactly what you would expect in Tanzania.. you’re not going to get Michelin star meals, but the hospitality of the staff is always five star. Having already done several trips with Chris, I knew exactly what to expect of him on the mountain and always know that he will do everything in his power to get people to the summit. He does this safely and carefully, encouraging the whole group to eat and drink plenty throughout the trip, and monitoring our pulse and oxygen saturation and keeping an eye out for headaches or any signs of altitude sickness. Chris works well with local guides and ensures that the hike is adapted in pace to meet the needs of everyone in the group and his positive mental attitude always shows when people begin to struggle. Chris has a way of bonding groups of strangers into friends whilst on the mountain more than any other guide I know. Chris’s energy never seems to run short and it is no coincidence that all of our group (aged between 16 and 59) had a successful ascent to the summit. I can, as with all of Chris’s trips, recommend Active Mountaineering if you are considering climbing Kilimanjaro. With Active Mountaineering, you will not only have the best chance of reaching the summit safely, but have an enjoyable trip of a lifetime.

After I signed up with a few friends late to the party for the National 3 Peaks Challenge and they had already chosen Chris at Active Mountaineering. Having never done anything similar like that before I didn’t know what to expect but I had an overriding view it was gonna be tough. It was… but amazingly rewarding and fun. Chris was the required driving force to enable those needing a push, to achieve their goals even when they were doubting themselves. Despite unfortunate weather, it was an incredible experience and encouraged me to further book to do Kilimanjaro with Chris leading again. Hands down it was the toughest, most challenging but rewarding experience in so many ways I’ve ever done. However Chris’s knowledge, consideration and professionalism was what would lead me to return on further adventures with him again and more have been booked! The true testaments to this were firstly on Kilimanjaro, I got sick and Chris handled it perfectly, - expertly judging all elements combined for the best possible outcome for everyone and I couldn’t thank him enough. Secondly when we arrived back down and when were en route up, our group of 4 had met and chatted to various other individuals part of bigger and smaller groups recounting their experiences with their various guides and activity providers, and quite frankly I felt so lucky that we had chosen Active Mountaineering again. Truly felt we got the best, most fun and fulfilling experience possible at a decent price. Couldn’t recommend the company and Chris more 🙌🏻🙌🏻
