Agave Social, as well as Pineapple Hospitality Group’s other three restaurants with different names and menus, have convincingly dialed-in the concept of good food, drinks and fun. Our immediate area is genuinely fortunate they opened here; there’s really nowhere else quite like them this far north. You shouldn’t mistake this as a traditional Mexican restaurant (no burrito, enchilada or fajitas), though that’s certainly their inspiration. Think mostly tacos, salads, bowls and one very good burger (their menu is easily found online). On weekends they serve a different, five-item brunch menu that still manages to offer something for everyone. I’d suggest that “Social” may be the stronger influence here, so much so that reservations for an evening visit are advisable to avoid a long wait or disappointment. We’ve dined here for lunch at least six times, have explored the menu well, and have never left disappointed, especially once we knew what to expect (or not to expect). Be certain to check their "Blackboard Specials" menu as they seem to always be creating something new to try. The cocktail menu is creative and satisfying, but dominated by tequila-based drinks. Additionally, there appears to be an all-day happy hour. Food always comes plated beautifully and service is generally very attentive and well-meaning. There’s both inside and a generous portion of covered outside dining just far enough away from Dale Mabry to be pleasant. It’s not unusual to see large parties here who are invariably happy and boisterous. While that’s not a bad thing, this may not be the place for an intimate, romantic dinner. So, yeah, you should definitely try Agave Social. Maybe go for lunch to quietly get to know the place, then return to see how popular they are at night. And if we’re lucky, maybe they’ll soon open one of their other restaurants “way up here.”
This is the place to go! We went on a Tuesday not realizing it was taco Tuesday lol but it was perfect! It was definitely crowded, but we were seated immediately! There is seating inside as well as the he patio and that is where we sat! It was such a vibe! The food was amazing. The drinks were amazing and the staff was amazing! I can’t wait to go back and try something else because the food was so good! I recommend if you go you sit in the heated patio because it feels the same as it does inside, but it is much more of a vibe. If you’re looking for a more quiet dining experience, the inside is the place for you. I’m so glad we chose the heated patio because it was great!
I walked in with a friend here, and even though the place was fairly crowded for a weekday, the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The hostess was incredibly sweet and welcoming, making a great first impression. Our server, Jacob, was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. His food suggestions were spot-on, and he also recommended drinks based on our first choices. The drinks and food were excellent, and the salsa tasted truly homemade, which was a nice touch. I’ve tried Old Fashioneds at many places in Tampa, and the bartender did a great job—I’d easily rank this one in my top five. Jacob was very observant and made sure we had everything we needed, which really elevated our visit. It was also a pleasant surprise to run into a neighbor who works there! I would definitely return with close friends. All the best to the team—please keep up this great hospitality and friendly service. Sorry guys forgot to click pictures this time :)
Everything was great! I tried the birria empanadas, the jerk chicken taco, the fundido dip and a classic margarita. Every item I tried was excellent and worth going back for. I only tried the classic margarita, but they had an extensive tequila menu with a variety of different styles of drinks that I intend on going back to try in the future! Parking was easy, the restaurant is located inside a shopping center with a huge parking lot attached. The prices were very reasonable as well. A great place to meet up with friends or go for a date. They had a bar as well as standard seating options.
I had an incredible experience at this place! It was our first time here, and Allie went over and beyond to explain the menu to us, give us recommendations and made sure we left happy and excited to come back. She is absolutely phenomenal— and she gives an elevated level of service that is hard to come by these days. Overall it was a 10/10 experience, the food was delicious and we loved everything we ordered. They even made sure to give us a birthday dessert on the house! We will absolutely be back.
