via Google Had a consultation, and then stellar haircut with Maya. Honestly, earnestly best haircut experience of my life.
I thought I wanted one haircut, but when it turned out that my hair wasn’t laying like I wanted to, she was more than willing to shift in a different direction mid-cut and give me the haircut that matched what my hair wanted to do.
This is huge because I felt bad as it happened but she stayed kind and energetic despite it being a different cut. Her flexibility was reassuring.
My hair…kind of does what it wants so I struggle getting haircuts and have been burned so many times before.
Maya worked with me to find something that was very complimentary to my face.
The shop is also LGBT friendly and there’s a chill vibe inside.
If you’re on the fence, book a consultation and be honest about what you want.
Such an excellent experience.
I’ll be a repeat customer in the future.

Venisa Sinhavia Google Was visting Houston for a work trip and came here for a quick haircut and updating layers too. I saw Paige and she was incredible! Even the hair wash so ultra relaxing as she added a little head massage too. I left with my hair feeling refreshed, modern, chic, and smelling amazing too! Really recommend the place and Paige!

Jaxson Spencervia Google I'm so endlessly thankful to everyone at Alchemy for their kindness and care. I had hair way past my shoulders, and I work outside, so with a little mismanagement on my part, I had some pretty bad matting in my hair - huge knots on the sides and back of my hair.
I initially came in for a consultation with Maya, assuming they might not even be able to help me. She got to work immediately during my consultation. (For free, mind you...) I booked again with her, and she worked patiently and carefully, making significant progress in our first appointment. (Freeing up enough for me to attend a function and not look completely ridiculous.) Jessie stepped over to help between her own clients, speeding up the process.
After that appointment, it worked better for my schedule to come in on Thursdays, so I booked with Kella for a few weeks in a row. She spent SO MUCH time with me, working so carefully and checking in to make sure she wasn't killing me. After about 4 appointments and around 20 hrs (that absolutely FLEW by with Kella), she was able to save so much of my hair, which she trimmed and washed and treated, so that it looks the healthiest it's ever been. Seriously. She did amazing. I came in knowing I wanted it cut closer to the shoulders, and she was able to do exactly what I had pictured even after all the detangling.
I honestly had no idea what to do about my hair after realizing I couldn't take care of it myself (I'm very stubborn), but they took great care of me and never made me feel like an idiot for letting that happen to my hair. I spent the most time with Kella, but so many people on staff came to help between their own clients, which was so kind. In addition to Jessie, Julie detangled some of the worst knots on the side, Patty did hours worth of work in the back, and even Julia (the incredible intern!) stepped in to work out some on the back. It was a crazy situation, folks.
Hopefully I never end up in that situation again, but if I do, I'm coming right back here. They have options for paying for your appointments in installments, which I appreciate (through Affirm), and both Maya and Kella helped me book services with cost in mind. Excellent place. Highly recommend.

Not only does my hair always look amazing because of her but sitting in her chair is the most comfortable and relaxed experience. I cannot recommend her or the studio enough. It’s always a great time in Katie’s chair.

Jessica Cardenasvia Google I never go to salons to get my hair done so I was a little apprehensive but meeting with Julie, she listened to what I was thinking, gave me her suggestions and advice and i was so appreciative for it all! She was fun and attentive while being professional and thorough. The salon itself was welcoming and a great vibe! I am looking forward to continuing to be a client of Julie’s at Alchemy salon!
