Isabelle Sambuis is a wonderful professor! I have been working with her for around 2 months now and I have been given so many tools for success to maintain my French. We customize our classes to my needs and when I needed help prepping for an interview in French, Isabelle even met with me early to help me get it done. She is just the best and incredibly knowledgable and patient. Everyone else from AFA has also been great and quick to respond if ever needed.
Do you want to learn or improve your French? Look no further than the Alliance Francaise d'Austin. All courses are online, so no need to drive through Austin's traffic. However, they do offer some social opportunities throughout the year. The Café Conversation, for instance, is a fun way to practice French in real time with other students. Another plus is that all teachers are native speakers of French. They are dedicated, warm, and really want you to improve!
I just finished a conversation class with Morgane. She is a wonderful teacher and has a way of encouraging students as they struggle to find vocabulary. AFA offers a variety of classes for every level of French. The organization is well run and responsive to student's questions etc
For the past 4 years I've taken French classes through Alliance Française - almost exclusively with Isabelle S. I can say without hesitation that Isabelle is a fantastic teacher!! She paces the class well, allowing everyone time to speak and learn. The class size remains the right size and the outside work is just enough to keep me learning without being a burden to an already busy week.
I have been taking French conversation classes with Isabelle Sambuis for the past four years and she is without question one of the best teachers I have ever had in any subject. She explains clearly, challenges without pressuring, corrects without criticizing, creates an environment in which everyone feels comfortable making the mistakes you have to make in order to learn.
