My son has gone to ACC 10th street for the past several years. He was in the toddler and prek3 classes from the time he was 16 months old and he's gone to the afterschool program for the past three years. We've also done drop in for full days when schools are closed as needed. We very much appreciate how experienced and knowledgeable the teachers and staff are. There's not a problem or issue Ms. Mildred hasn't seen or handled before, and she's quick to reassure you that she's had plenty of kids X or Y in the past and it's all worked out fine. Ms. Lyons has a million strategies to try when someone needs a little extra support and Ms. L can make any van ride fun and safe. I've never thought for a minute that my son wasn't well taken care of and treated well when he's been up there. He's always felt incredibly loved and cared for when he's there and always talks about the teachers/staff and the fun/interesting things they did when he gets home. When he went full time to ACC we found the curriculum to be very age appropriate with a strong focus on fundamental skills, and they were willing to supplement and move forward or backward as needed. We really appreciated that there was a lot of tactile and hands on work as many early childhood programs have moved to screen based learning, which we didn't love. When he started DISD he was in the top percentiles for all subjects, I think due in large part to the strong foundation he received in early childhood education at ACC. Compared to other facilities the price is phenomenal for what you get. When we priced and visited other facilities I legitimately thought ACC had misquoted us given all that is included in the price. I've heard people be a little skeptical of the level of care and curriculum given the price, but I don't think we could have found a better place for our son at a facility 3x the price. We also really appreciate how dedicated ACC and the foundation is to the local community. From big events, to providing meals at holidays, to the daily assurance that every child leaves incredibly well fed we love that they are not just a business in the community but are a business doing good in the community. I can't recommend ACC enough for whatever age child you have. I'm going to be very sad when my son ages out, but luckily we have several more years of ACC for our family.
