Several years ago, I had been craving human connection and a creative hobby that supported me in establishing a healthy mind/body relationship. So, while at work and going about a boring, menial routine, I looked up dance classes that didn't require signing up with a partner and found this franchise. I've since been a student at the Long Beach location for the last 3 years and have utilized their services to completely shift my life in a better direction, joining completely on a whim. Through AMLB, I found a new group of friends and a newfound passion that I thought had been lost forever. Receiving the 1st place prize for Top Studio at the 2025 Unique Dance-O-Rama event, our studio's community continues to grow. New faces are walking through the door every day, breathing life into the space. Walking through the door for the first time is the toughest part, so everyone is acknowledged and greeted every time by instructors and students alike. Time and time again, we are commended and told by studio members from other locations that Long Beach has the most fun, cheers the loudest, and laughs the most. It really is a joyful environment and can be a healing place to be. I love what the instructors and have managed to create here - and it is a gift to be able to be a part of that. Arthur Murray Long Beach is a great place for beginners to learn how to dance a large variety of styles for ballroom competitions, social dancing, or weddings. Each student is assigned 1-2 dedicated instructors who provide individual, one-on-one lessons. A variety of group classes are included with your personal lessons every weeknight, which offers opportunity to socialize and learn. New students can expect to receive a structured and accessible curriculum that focuses on technique, styling, and presentation of character. Depending on your individual needs, wedding dance choreography, solo dancers, and even couples looking for a hobby can expect a rich social environment and a close-knit community. If you're interested in competing in events, there are a large variety of opportunities to challenge yourself at dance-o-ramas and showcases. And if you just want to watch professional dancers and be entertained by colorful performances, LB shows up to support its members every time. The lesson packages and events can cost a bit, so it is worth having an idea of what you're looking for and to be vocal about what you want. They often offer new student specials, so you can always still inquire about introductory lessons if you're curious about the hobby. Overall, you get what you put into it. So if you're showing up with clear intention to your lessons and participate in as many group classes as you can, you'll likely experience immense improvement in your dancing and confidence.

Taking lessons and dancing at the Arthur Murray studio is wonderful. In my wildest dreams, I never thought I would enjoy ballroom dancing. My wife and I took a few lessons to dance at my daughter's wedding and we were hooked. Give it a try.

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent instructors. We are beginners, we started out with a few private lessons to get some basics and then the group classes. Group is so much fun and then after they have a "dance party" where we practice all different styles. Everyone is so encouraging and you get to dance with partners of all different levels. The studio really makes dance fun and inviting

Very comfortable studio and friendly staff make this a great place to learn a step or two. Deals from the likes of Groupon help your pocketbook. Convenient scheduling with various classes and dances available to fit your schedule No pressure, just head over and have fun learning a new dance style. I loved the cha-cha/salsa classes that I took with my wife (using a Groupon deal). Whether you only take advantage of a deal or you extend your visits to become a regular routine, it should be informative and fun.
