We just loved this hotel. While we have stayed at other nice hotels in Quebec City, none of them compare to St Antoine. The ambiance is amazing and on a winter's day to come into the lobby with it's fireplace and welcoming staff was the best. The room, the food, the service and the staff were all 5 stars. And, to top it off, they made our dog feel welcome! Every time we brought him to the lobby, they were feeding him treats and giving him attention. You must, if you can, stay here when you visit Quebec.
Michelin keys on point. Hands down the best hotel in Quebec City. I don’t usually write hotel reviews, but this was, without question, one of the best stays I’ve had in recent years. The property is located in the lower part of Old Quebec, not massive, so you don’t get the sweeping panoramic views you’d find at the Fairmont up the hill. But the trade-off is worth it. The hospitality here makes up for the elevation difference ten times over. I stayed in a corner suite, and from welcome mini tarts and champagne to evening rounds offering extra amenities and water, the service was incredible throughout my stay. The room itself was also extremely well done. Heated bathroom floors, a ceiling-mounted shower, and even a small stone tray by the entrance for drying umbrellas. Small touches that really elevate the experience. The immediate area around the hotel is relatively quiet in terms of amenities, but the on-site gym and spa were solid, and the historic artifacts woven throughout the property added character and a real sense of place. At checkout, I was handed a surprise bag of freshly baked cookies, which I really needed on my trip home. I’m not in the city often, but when I am, this will be my first choice without a doubt.
Wow. What a fantastic stay at the Auberge Saint-Antoine. I stayed during a very busy holiday week and the staff was extremely warm and attentive to every detail. The housekeeping left chocolate and tea on our bed nightly. The final night they even gifted us an ornament to take home for our own Christmas tree! Our room was extremely well appointed and the heated floors in the bathroom were fantastic during a winter trip. I loved how the hotel incorporated the historical elements throughout. An amazing history lesson in and of itself. There are plenty of great hotels in Quebec City but I would choose the Auberge Saint-Antoine every time. I will be back!
Absolutely LOVED this place! Check in was friendly, easy and efficient. We had two rooms with a toddler. When we asked for a crib, they gave us one for each room (which made grandson sleepover with grandparents much easier!). The shower robes for adults AND kiddos were wonderful! Restaurant/Breakfast amazing as was the bar artifacts. A special shout out to Ali (the PianoMa’am!). She was wonderful and really bonded with our two year old so beautifully! Another special shout out: the breakfast team! All made it a point to chat with the grandson. He loved saying “Bon jour” to everyone! The hotel movie theater is a wonder way to enjoy a quiet evening as a couple or with little ones!
We have been coming to Quebec City for decades and always stayed at a well known location where we stayed on our business trips. No more. After a wonderful couple of days with the people of the Auberge Saint-Antonie they are now our Go-To place when in QC. From the moment our cab pulled up at the front door and their doorman (from Oxfordshire) helped us into the hotel, to the moment they helped us into the cab to the train home we were treated like welcomed friends. And the design and decor of the hotel incorporates the old buildings which it encompasses. They must have an archeologist on staff as artifacts are featured throughout the hotel properly curated. Our room was spacious, and very well appointed. We ended our first day in the bar where the bartender patiently explained her preparation of a Black Manhattan to me. The bar has a window in the wall where you can view the old foundations. Breakfast in their Artifacts Restaurant was wonderful and the setting very interesting as you can see the structure of the old building where it is located. Very, very highly recommended!
