Came in here to get souvenirs with my family. We bought things over $400 but when we were taking our stuff to the front counter an old staff member called LYN loudly said to the cashier that ‘don’t be frustrated if they put them on the counter and don’t pay, it happens’. Not sure if she was racially profiling us but that was super rude and uncalled for.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, it’s a tourist store for sure but it actually has some very nice things (clothes, felt hats, indigenous made boomerangs), along with the usual kitsch

Despite the unique selection in this store, the behavior of one staff member made the entire experience disturbing and unacceptable. There is a universal understanding of how to approach a child who is not yours — you either speak to them gently or address the parents if there’s an issue. What happened here was the exact opposite. An older female staff member intimidated a 4-year-old boy, shoving a ball against his chest and scolding him harshly simply because she didn’t like that he was gently bouncing it on the floor — while his parents were browsing the products peacefully. To make things worse, the same employee made inappropriate comments about another family in the store. Working in a souvenir shop — especially in a tourist area — requires patience, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness. If a staff member cannot handle the presence of children or diverse types of customers, they should not be working in customer service, let alone in tourism. If the business owners care about their store’s reputation, I highly recommend they review the security footage from yesterday evening and see what actually happened.

There are a variety of souvenirs you can buy for yourself or friends. But I bought for one of my favourite kpop idol, who is Lisa Manobal, is a member of BLACKPINK. In addition, she released her new solo song which is named ROCKSTAR on June 28th. Coincidentally, they got both "Lisa" and "Rockstar" rings and I was going crazy in my mind at that time, so I bought both of these on June 30th. I'll definitely come back here next time traveling to Gold Coast.
