This is one of my favorite bookstores in town! It's always quiet and peaceful. All the kids toys really help to buy me more time browsing by keeping my daughter occupied. We love to support local as much as possible so we try to get our books here first!
I was just parking here for the No Kings protest so I only briefly dropped in to say thanks to the owner (for offering up free parking for the event). It was my first time visiting, and it was too short, but it's now on my radar for a return visit. The front counter guy was very gracious and friendly, and the interior is filled with light and books, which left a great first impression.
I love this place. It's hard to find a good book store anymore, and I live that this is a small business.
The building desperately needs repairs and the air conditioner wasn't working on the day I stopped by but the poor clerk couldn't close until it reached 90 degrees inside the building! The selection of books is fair but not great. Sad because I love to support local stores but this one needs a lot of help.
What's not to love about a bookstore? :-) We visited the Avid Reader for an event and ended up shopping there as well. They have a very nice setup with adequate space for book reading to a small crowd. They have ample items for kids to shop including books and toys. Associates are very friendly. Highly recommend in case you want to go check out some books in a neighborhood book store.
