This is one of those places near Waikiki you must visit if your looking for vintage Aloha clothing. There are probably thousands of shirts, mostly vintage but also new to choose from. Prices are reasonable from 20 or so dollars to hundreds for the super collectors shirts. Fascinating place to visit.
When I walked into this establishment with my son, I first noticed the scent of some sort of incense, but I did not appreciate it as I do other incenses. The atmosphere was spiritually off-putting. As I was looking around the store, my son escaped me. I called for him, and the store attendant / cashier told me that I needed to stay by him. That seemed acceptable and reasonable to me. My son and I then went over to what appeared to be a kid-toy section. I pulled down a bin full of plastic toys, and he started to look through them. I then walked a few feet away from him to look at some of what the store had to offer. The store attendant then told me again that I have to be with my son - except this time I knew where he was and that he was not playing with fragile items - and I was nearby him. In any case, I went over by my son. Then the clerk told me that he was not to look through the toy bin like that, as the owners don’t want the bin on the ground - or something to that matter. This was odd to me because he was looking through what appeared to be plastic junk toys (see posted picture). In response, I irritatedly asked her how my son is supposed to look through the toys, to which she responded that I could show him the toys myself, picking them out (presumably individually) from the box while it is on the shelf. I told her that that did not make sense but cleaned up the toys and returned the box to its place on the shelf as requested. We left the store shortly after this interaction, having been made uncomfortable. It should also be noted that the prices here seem quite inflated. I did not look at a lot of stuff here, but I did look at the jean jackets, and I believe all of them were over $200, which was ridiculous to me. Perhaps these sell well to Japanese or other Asian tourists, so they raise the prices on them; that is my guess.
Likely the widest selection of Aloha shirts in Oahu (if not the entire State of Hawaii) ranging from new contemporary and older classics to comical prints and decades-old vintage. Both men’s and women’s section. Old-school postcards, dashboard hula dolls and tiki memorabilia abound. A must-stop for anyone looking for a memorable gift for oneself or souvenir from the Hawaiian Islands.
Wow, what an incredible treasure trove! Absolutely 100% worth it to visit if you’re in Waikiki or Honolulu. Yes there are 15,000 shirts but the friendly lady behind the counter will point you to the right direction and narrow down the racks which you can peruse and find your perfect Aloha shirt. Love the shirts we found - it’s the perfect Honolulu souvenir.
Loved visiting this place after passing it so many times in Waikiki and always wanting to stop in! There is an aloha shirt for everyone here and two sides to the store as well, it is huge! The owners are extremely nice and welcoming, I will definitely be back to explore again! Just be prepared it can be pricey since many of the shirts are designer or high quality vintage, but there are many shirts around $30-$40 as well.
