We hired Bayview Painting on two separate occasions this past summer and they were fantastic. Peter and Norma were great to work with, providing quick and competitive quotes, keeping us informed throughout the entire process, and following up appropriately before, during, and after the job. The quality of work was very high and is apparent by those that they hire. Cruz and Diego displayed high workmanship installing several ember resistant vents (both Vulcan and custom), thinking creatively to accommodate difficult placements and obstacles within the vent opening, and offering options to save us money without compromising quality/performance. Based upon our initial experience with Bayview Painting for our home hardening effort, we hired them soon after to paint the exterior of our home. Diego and Omar (and team) did an excellent job painting our house. They were very detailed oriented and communicated well with us throughout. Bayview also connected us with a colorist (Karen) as part of the job and she was excellent in helping us refine our paint selections as well as offered several suggestions to maximize paint choices to accentuate details around our house. Overall, we couldn't be happier supporting a great local company such as Bayview Painting. I appreciate Peter and Norma's patience with us before and during the job answering our questions and getting everything right. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking for any sort of painting job or is looking for home hardening assistance to consider Bayview Painting. In terms of pricing, they were extremely fair and were fully insured and bonded. They weren't the lowest nor the highest (right in the middle), but they were well worth the high quality and value and knowing we were supporting a local business.
I recently had Vulcan Fire ember protection vents installed in my home by Bayview Painting, and I am thoroughly impressed with their service from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process—everyone from the front office staff to the installers was professional, responsive, and friendly. They made scheduling and answering my questions effortless. The installation itself was top-notch. The team paid great attention to detail, ensuring the vents were fitted perfectly and securely. What stood out was the finished work: they expertly painted the vents to match the existing exterior wall color, making the installation look seamless and integrated rather than an obvious add-on. It truly enhanced the aesthetic of my home while providing the critical fire protection I needed. I highly recommend Bayview Painting for anyone looking for quality workmanship, excellent communication, and a flawless finished product.
The outside of our large, three-story house hadn’t been painted in 30 years, and the need was great, especially since there were signs of problems with the plywood siding, windowsills, access doors to the underside of the house, and much more. When Peter Dewey from Bayview Painting came by he did a full circuit of the house with us, and noted the areas in good shape (a few) and the areas that would need work, including removing the plywood and battens from about 40% of the house exterior. He was absolutely right, as the project work moved forward, and his very detailed bid diagnosed and recognized problem areas, with the bid costs split between carpentry (like removing old exterior plywood on a badly done addition dating from the 1970s), and his crew did a diligent and difficult job with all the painting -- but that only after a whole lot of (epic) prep work, starting with a subcontractor installing four levels of scaffolding, removing old plywood, and extending later to scraping and sanding and sealing every batten on the outside of the house, patching holes from past work, and leaving all better than new. As his base crew of two guys did the preliminary work (power washing and removing a couple of exterior plywood sheets to see what was underneath) the bid proved prescient: all the old plywood had to go, which we could see from photographs that he and the crew would take, documenting all of the job. Lots to do and it was done carefully, as quickly as possible with an attentive crew, and the results are spectacular. A color consultant came by; so too did a specialist in gutters & downspouts too, since five of those had to be replaced; the carpenter fabricated a new access door for the subbasement, which rodents could not now get through; the bid covered costs of new plywood and sophisticated replacement flashing to protect the new windows, and much much more came from his warehouse, as did a light for the outside foyer to the house. His crew installed replacement LED exterior spotlights, a security light above the garage door (which they painted, also), and much more. All was included in the bid. His crew (and he would come by every couple of days to review the work) was truly great. And so was he -- at one point, with the plywood along the south-facing wall removed, there proved to be dry rot all around a window header, and bowing in the sills of two lower level windows, each six feet wide, which made them un-openable: The crew talked to him, and he called to suggest we purchase two new windows from Lowe’s, which he then picked up and delivered that afternoon. The crew installed them beautifully, doing all the outside work and the inside drywall repair, taping, mudding, and painting -- the downstairs office has never looked so good before. The house is beauteous now, and we couldn’t be happier with the work by Bayview Painting and Peter Dewey’s crew. It’s a quality operation from beginning to end, and we’re proud of the results and the new look. And the people who work for him are great. Impossible to think of how it could be done better.
