Best Bites Houston

I discovered Best Bites Houston through an “Adventure Bucket List” card deck, and I’m so glad I scratched that one off! This food tour completely exceeded my expectations. Our host, Star, was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the experience feel both local and special. We visited four fantastic spots: 🍴 The Rustic – great bites and a fun atmosphere to kick things off. ☕ Tenfold Coffee Company – a beautiful space with thoughtfully brewed coffee. 🥙 Phoenicia Specialty Foods – the shawarma stop was flavorful and filling. 🍰 Brasserie du Parc – dessert with a view and a perfect way to end the day. I even got to sample a variety of local beers, which added a nice touch to the tasting experience. The group was fun and the pacing of the tour felt just right. Honestly, food tours are something I usually reserve for traveling, but this reminded me how rewarding it can be to explore your own city with fresh eyes (and a hungry stomach). Highly recommend this for locals and visitors alike!

Best Bites Food Tour is absolutely amazing!! We had the BEST time on our food tour. Our guide, Star, was phenomenal — she picked the most delicious foods and drinks, and every stop was better than the last. She’s so knowledgeable about Houston’s history and you can feel her passion for food, flavors, and making sure everyone is having a blast. Star made the whole experience unforgettable! If you’re thinking about booking a tour with Best Bites, do it — and definitely ask for Star!

We did a private food tour to celebrate our friend's birthday. It was an awesome experience. Star was a wonderful host, with great knowledge of the city and local cuisine. We went to 3 different places and tried a variety of yummy bites. I'm looking forward to doing another tour with Best Bites Houston!

Star was AMAZING! She is sooo passionate and knowledgeable. Probably the best was her organization! Right from the start as she greeted our group, she gave an overview of what to expect during our tour and gave us her brief bio about how she came to form this company! At each location, she made sure to point out the owners and their focus on sustainability! She was very clear about what we were eating and how she came to add that particular location to her tour. There was always ample time to enjoy the food and drink and we really enjoyed visiting with all the couples. Star would pop in and tell us "we have 13 more minutes to enjoy" and then make sure to point out restrooms -- we even had time to shop at an international market! The stops were each planned with a theme in mind. She was able to take our diverse group (8 total --- 4 couples: 2 local couples, 2 couples not from the area) and make everyone feel included in her conversation - even the locals were learning new things! The FOOD WAS delicious as were the drinks. Walking through the tour, Star made sure to stop frequently enough that the group never got separated from each other. She even offered photo ops -- which is always great part of the tour. Overall, I would easily do this food tour again... I'm betting Star has some surprises up her sleeve -- even if you've been on the tour before!

What a fabulously fun tour with Star! This was a surprise birthday weekend for my husband with the food tour & a night at the Marquis, which was perfectly located to the start & end of the tour. She was so enthusiastic about our great city of Houston and super knowledgeable about the architecture, culture & cuisine it has to offer. We were also paired with such an amazing family group, so it made our tour even that much better! The food & cocktails were delicious! Our favorites were definitely the Rustic tamales & margaritas and the Brasserie Du Parc's crepe & surprise, signature lychee cocktail for dessert. We loved it so much, we went to the Rustic's amazing brunch the next morning (peek at their website for details). We had reservations at Brasserie, but we changed our minds to the Rustic only based on our cuisine mood at the moment but will definitely be back for Brasserie in the near future!
