Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy place to get quick repairs where they don't try to upsell you, they just take care of what needs to get done.
I had a 3 month stay at UCLA and bought a bike at Facebook marketplace. I went to the shop to get some LED lights. Without asking the guys immediately started checking it and touching it up. They rightfully noticed that it was too small for me and remembered one in their attic which could fit after a bit of work. After all I agreed to the deal, paid for the upgrade and got a bike which served me really well. They offered to trade it in on a commission basis at the end of my stay, but the bike was good enough that my UCLA host bought it as a his commuting bike. Ah, and yes, the had some reasonable LED lights, too.
I dropped off my Giant TCR on 9/19 for a tune-up and to switch out my 28-inch tires for something more comfortable (30 or 32 inches). I was told it would be ready by the middle of the following week. By Wednesday, 9/24, I hadn’t heard from them, so I called and was told they were having trouble sourcing tires but expected a shipment by Friday, and the bike would be ready by Saturday. No call came, so I called again on 9/26 and was told the same thing: delays with tires, but they promised it would be ready by Thursday, 10/2. Still no word, so I went in today, 10/5, assuming it would be ready or at least partially done. To my surprise, they hadn’t even started the tune-up. The tires were in, but they were waiting for their tire guy to install them. I ended up taking my bike to the Trek shop nearby, as I felt the communication was poor and there was a lack of urgency. I was also frustrated by their inconsistent updates and delays. I’m giving 2 stars because the owner/manager gave me two free bottles of sealant for my trouble. However, I won’t be coming back for bike service or parts, though I might consider checking them out for used bikes. I ended up at Trek in Beverly Hills, where they had everything in stock and will have my bike done by Wednesday. It’s a bit pricier, but you really get what you pay for. I’m disappointed because this shop is so much closer to me, but I don’t think I’ll return for service. Thanks again for the sealant.
Always friendly and helpful. I’ve had a relationship with this shop, at first when they were on Robertson Boulevard, and now on Pico Boulevard. They will help you get what you need at a fair price.
