I cannot say enough positive things about the expert and loving training our puppy, Koa, received from Shyenne McCowan. The whole experience with Beyond the Dog training was so impressive, supportive and tailored to our personal needs/goals. Our first interaction was actually with Dr. Savage, founder, who voluntarily initiated a supportive/instructional zoom call after hearing I had called Beyond the Dog with questions due to struggling with our pup's behavior. We saw immediate results. She then hand picked Shyenne for our in personal training needs and wow! Shyenne was a perfect fit from the minute she walked in our door. Not only is she a terrific as a person but most impressively she is a dedicated, knowledgeable, passionate professional. Shyenne's true commitment to, knowledge and delivery of science based positive and effective training is game changing and I would recommend her and Beyond the Dog without hesitation. Koa is an amazing part of our family. Shyenne was able to coach us to be the owners we need to be for Koa to be his very best and happiest.

Shelby is the BEST!!! My dog Ollie has serious resource guarding issues (specifically with food) and reactivity toward other dogs in public places. I reached out to Beyond the Dog after an especially scary incident between Ollie and the other dog in my home. Shelby helped me understand the signs of resource guarding, how to mitigate the chance of altercations occurring, and also did training/obedience techniques with Ollie that has made him so much more manageable at home. Ollie is also a “velcro dog” with separation anxiety, so it’s been tough to find someone that Ollie trusts and is comfortable with. Shelby was so patient with Ollie and I was so impressed to see how quickly Ollie took to her and he actually looks forward to their sessions! Shelby has also helped address his reactivity in public places. Before, he would pull on his leash on walks and would bark at almost every dog we saw on the street. Ollie now walks right next to me on walks and doesn’t bark or pull when he sees other dogs. I can’t recommend beyond the dog and Shelby enough!

My dog Franklin just completed a training program with Shyenne as his trainer. Franklin started as a wild shelter dog with no manners. Franklin’s reactivity on walks and behavior indoors are much improved now. He often gets compliments on how well behaved he is now. I have good tools to keep working with him. Franklin also had lots of fun training and loved Shyenne. I recommend this program to those struggling with their dog’s behavior.

We hired Beyond the Dog to help us with our new puppy. We had a great experience with them. Our trainer Shyenne did an exceptional job. The lessons were all well structured and efficient and she was friendly and worked well with our dog - he looked forward to the lessons. At the end of each week Shyenne would send a summary of the week along with key items to practice between lessons. Our dog has done great and has great obedience - especially given his young age. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience with Beyond the Dog and specifically with my trainer, Shyenne! My rescue dog, Lacey, struggled with reactivity towards other dogs. Walking by any dogs was extremely stressful, as Lacey would fixate on them and lunge as we passed. Shyenne immediately saw what Lacey needed help with and got to work. Within the first week, Lacey was walking by my side and not pulling, which was a key first step. After the 5 week program, Lacey's reactivity has decreased so much to the point where we can pass dogs on the same sidewalk as we're walking, which I never thought would be possible!! Shyenne equipped me with all the tools I need to continue working with Lacey. She also helped with Lacey's indoor manners. She loves people but would get really excited and jump all over guests when they came over, especially on the couch. Now, Lacey is trained to immediately get off the couch the moment I say "leave it" and is so much calmer around guests which has been amazing! Beyond the Dog is extremely professional in their services, and Shyenne was especially organized each week. She always sent detailed notes on exactly what we needed to work on which was so helpful. Lacey and I can't thank Beyond the Dog enough! I would highly recommend to anyone who has a dog that struggles with reactivity as they have a science backed approach that provides real results!
