Incredible service and the prices are extremely fair. My bike got on the stand as a walk-in right before closing. Adamen was nice enough to evaluate my issue (emergency break down mid ride) and got me back on the bike with a new cassette, chain, spring, bearing adjustment, and a quick tune within 45 minutes. All while giving me tidbits of info that will help me take care of my bike better in the future. Having a local Bike shop like this is invaluable and makes me want to support these guys as much as I can. They’ll soon be offering beer/coffee. This place is a gem!
I am dissapointed that my bike issue was not solved when I visited the shop 2 years ago. Yet they had agreed to do the work. I spoke directly with the business owner, so I think my interaction reflects their business model, rather than a mechanic's professionalism. It became clear to me later, they do not prioritize fixing the issue reported by clients, but only pick a service bundle level based on their impression. So if the bike is dusty, they will say what they told me "seems like the bike hasn't seen a wrench for a while". Fine, so be it. But I paid over $400, and the noise in my crankset wasn't gone. They didn't even know what they were asked to fix when I was picking up the bike. What is more, my steering was tightened by them too much. Lack of skills maybe? I felt like they upsold services I didn't need. Watch out and stand your ground when they tell you to buy a service bundle. It was my mistake to waste $400 but I would have appreciated their honesty that they will focus on the issue and get it fixed even if it's $400. My loss but a good lesson. It's tough out there for folks like me who can't fix stuff ourselves, but it's a great reason to learn how to. Unfortunately, many bike shops are like that - money first, customer needs second.
This is a great shop! I rented a Salsa Journeyer from them for a ride on the Jedidiah Smith trail. The bike was great and the ride was fabulous.
Adamen and the crew were so friendly and made us feel like family. They did a great job in setting up my bike with new tires and tubeless within a very short period of time. Also, wrapped my handlebars for me. Love the friendly local shop and the care that they take in service. I love the Giro gear here too. Found my fav bib here!
I was very impressed with the shop in Old Town Fair Oaks. I first test rode the bike. I shopped around at other bike shops. They were no comparison to this bike. The ease of riding is great, especially since I have knee problems... I would like to bring it in for a tune up.. I hope it's not too late.. Thanks again, Ken
