We rented the 12 person raft for the Sailor Bar River float. We had a reservation, and got there about 9:15 am to check in. You do have to pay $10 for parking, recommend you bring cash as it’s more convient than paying on credit card. There is a single page waiver everyone must sign. Check in was easy and quick. They provide the life jackets and drove us up to Sailor Bar, unloaded the raft and pushed us off about 10:00 am. Really great service. Sailor Bar is a beautiful and calm float with incredible wild life and scenery, very uncrowded! We stopped a couple of times to get in the cold and clear water. One small, minor “white water” right before the Fair Oaks Bridge. We went under two bridges. Finished about 12:20 pm. What a great rafting trip, everyone (ages 12 yrs to 61 yrs) had a wonderful time! American River Raft has great customer service and I will rent from them again for our next rafting trip!

Fun day...but this is a review of the rental place! But nickel and dime philosophy rental place First boat rental cost. Parking car cost. Then you still need to CARRY your raft by yourself like 0.5 miles. Otherwise pay $30 for boat delivery. Ridiculous-- it should be delivery to riverbank INCLUDED--it's their choice to have place not at a riverbank. Most other rentals are right up against the water! Then return bus cost. Really annoying. It was a converted OLD school bus. Btw bus ride back 15 min. The driver had the air conditioning on at full blast (even though it was 100+ outside today). Maybe a bit more gentle air con to not need to drastically acclimatize before and after ride! Also be aware it runs every half hour which is reasonable but if you had to wait in the hot sun at 100 for 30min when you've just missed ride, it might be quite unpleasant. So decide that before buying if an uber might be more reasonable. The river and event itself is fun and river beautiful. August is late season so less rapids and slower floating(4hr). Plan for picnics and swimming stops! Beginning season April (from rains and snow melt) faster harder rapids (2hr tour)

This was my first time rafting. When we got there renting a raft was simple the young lady was very knowledgeable and explained the contract very well. ALL staff was very helpful. Once on the river we had a ball best pre bday experience

If you decided to go this September, go early ! I will definitely come back again next season I would love to win the fourth draft! Unfortunately, September isn’t the time for a rafting because the flow will be too slow and we have to paddle by ourselves and end up being pick up early. But it’s overall pretty fine. Staff is very friendly and we have learned a lot from Don. I look forward to next season to be a visit and enjoy the water flow.
