ZERO STARS PLEASE READ!!! I’ve never booked a stay that felt more like a horror movie set than a rental meant for paying guests. The barn sits on the same property as an elderly couple’s home — who do not appear to be the hosts or rental managers — yet the space had chainsaws, saws, tools, and equipment hung inside the actual living area, not stored away like a maintained or professionally managed rental. There is also a camper directly behind the barn and a truck parked beside it, making the property feel unsecured and actively accessed, which made us extremely uncomfortable. We never stayed a single night. We only visited briefly to drop off belongings, left because we felt unsafe, then returned later to remove our things. When we came back, the bathroom floor was wet like someone had showered between visits, and a square piece of toilet paper was stuck to the shower floor that was not there before — meaning someone had been inside the space while our belongings were there, without our permission. The entry code being tied to the last 4 digits of my phone number is not a secure access system and contributed to our safety concern. I spoke directly to Birdy Vacation Rentals’ Reservation Manager, who was extremely rude, said “none of that happened” without any investigation, and refused to refund me even though the reservation was never used or occupied. She dismissed the safety concerns entirely and stated I would not be refunded anything. What made this even more unsettling is that the elderly woman who owns the property left a glowing 5-star Google review for the rental listing, even though she lives in a house on the same property and is not a paying guest. The listing also contains reviews that appear to be written by property owners and Birdy employees (maintenance, reservation staff, etc.) reviewing their own listing while posing as customers, which feels intentionally misleading. On top of that, I genuinely felt like someone was living in the small camper hidden behind the barn. The camper is not visible from the front at all — you wouldn’t even know it was there unless you physically walked around to the back of the barn to look. It sits tucked out of sight, directly behind the rental space, which gave a strong feeling of a hidden living situation on the property that guests are never told about. Whether it’s authorized or not, the lack of transparency made it feel unsafe and deeply uncomfortable. I don’t care how “unique” a property is — safety, honesty, transparency, and professional guest support are the absolute minimum. This stay failed all of them.

Mr. Birdy was so attentive and knowledgeable of the area. His place was clean and the vibe of this joint was super! The location was perfect for our wedding as well🌟⭐️

From the perspective of someone who prefers renting Airbnbs over staying in hotels, I totally recommend any property managed by Birdy Vacation Rentals. They’re among the few hosts who respond immediately and are genuinely willing to help the guest with any emergency or issue that may come up. Great sense of hospitality! I never felt unattended during my stay, and the homes I’ve stayed in have met my expectations.

Great stay at a great themed vacation rental. Great location! Check in was easy. BIG TV to watch Chief Nation wallup the Bills!!
