This lovely eco friendly and sustainable fashion shop is a treat for clothing of natural fibres, which are now so hard to come by. I had a very insightful chat with Anne Marie, the owner, about sourcing of fabrics, working with coops in the places where the materials originate and other fashion industry tidbits. The clothing lines, though a bit pricier, are closet staples in neutral colors and comfortable styles made of the most sensory and soft natural fibres. From lounge wear to office and evenings out, the high quality and pricing lend well to the addage that less of a better thing is ultimately more. The cotton and cashmere racks are just so pettable!

If you’re looking for a personal shopping experience along with old-fashioned customer service visit Bitter Grace in Union Market DC. It is in a bright, clean, marvelous space apart from the central hubbub of the crowded market. Look for it! Anne Marie, the owner, is the creative genius behind the brand. She lives and breathes elegance, fashion and lifestyle. The clothes are top quality, items you can’t find anywhere else. Anne Marie helped me understand how to prioritize comfort without sacrificing hi-end style. I am so excited to wear the clothes I bought at Bitter Grace and I will return as often as I can.

I went for a 3 person group color analysis session and had the best time!! It was so much fun and super helpful!! I would highly recommend that everyone experiences one of these sessions once in their lives. The session was such a great experience with the sweetest, kindest woman ever!! She helped with my colors, style, and much more!! (not to mention the entire shop is fully sustainable and eco-friendly)!! Thank you so much for creating such an enjoyable session and atmosphere!!

I am so happy I found this gem of a store! Their guest services team is absolutely amazing and their team is willing to accommodate whenever they can. I love their cotton bralettes soooo much, they are great quality, wash and dry to become even softer every time. I live in Boston but had to order more online because I can’t find bralettes like this anywhere else! Made in Los Angeles too.
