If you’re looking for a personal shopping experience along with old-fashioned customer service visit Bitter Grace in Union Market DC. It is in a bright, clean, marvelous space apart from the central hubbub of the crowded market. Look for it! Anne Marie, the owner, is the creative genius behind the brand. She lives and breathes elegance, fashion and lifestyle. The clothes are top quality, items you can’t find anywhere else. Anne Marie helped me understand how to prioritize comfort without sacrificing hi-end style. I am so excited to wear the clothes I bought at Bitter Grace and I will return as often as I can.

I went for a 3 person group color analysis session and had the best time!! It was so much fun and super helpful!! I would highly recommend that everyone experiences one of these sessions once in their lives. The session was such a great experience with the sweetest, kindest woman ever!! She helped with my colors, style, and much more!! (not to mention the entire shop is fully sustainable and eco-friendly)!! Thank you so much for creating such an enjoyable session and atmosphere!!

I had the most amazing time getting my color analysis done at Bitter Grace! Lydia and Anne Marie took their time to make sure that they found the best colors for me without ever making me feel like they were trying to fit me into a box. We had so much fun trying all the colors and figuring out why some worked and some didn't. They also made sure that I was comfortable the whole time - offering water and wine. I would HIGHLY suggest booking a color analysis appointment at Bitter Grace if you are remotely interested in color analysis! It helped guide me in choosing colors for my makeup trial for my wedding, hair tones for my next hair appointment, and new work clothes to put my best self forward. And beyond being incredibly helpful, it was also such a fun experience! Could not recommend more!

I’ve been a customer at Bitter Grace since the end of 2020. I can’t rave about this store front enough. It’s modern, chic and welcoming. The decor and fit-out is AMAZING. What makes it more home is that the staff are attentive. So when you’re viewing their pieces they can explain the relationships built, intention and brand you maybe investing in. I’ve enjoyed the sustainable clothing I’ve bought for myself and gifted to others. I absolutely love their candles. I loved the soaps and the previous facial scrub they stocked. Hopefully they are restocked soon or find another partner. In addition, I’ve recently attended a high tea event with friends that was beautiful from the food, tea, wine and champagne selections. Lastly, this morning the owners allowed me to utilize the space for a photoshoot. I’m very thankful for that. It gave the feel and energy I was seeking to bring out. You won’t lose with Bitter Grace. I’m excited for the future of this space because it will continue to thrive and be successful. You’ll see I’ve attached photos of items a one of a kind jacket I bought for myself. A gift purchased for a friend, the high tea, space growth and photos I enjoyed taking because it’s an amazing space. I’ll add photos from my shoot later to inspire others to utilize Bitter Grace to its full potential like I have.

Absolutely love this place. Bitter Grace has such a welcoming entrance with plants, greenery, candles and clothes. They value sustainability and they have some amazing pieces. I bought pistola denim jeans there that fit perfectly, which is usually hard for me to find. Also got a great candle that has rose quartz in it and makes my apartment smell so good. Everyone there was really nice and helpful. I even got a nice email a couple days after my purchase. They also host events such as a candle making class and I’m looking forward to future events. I’ll definitely be back to this gem of a place.
