I really tried to give this place a chance. It has stellar reviews and nice atmosphere. However the service was extremely poor. I ordered my drink at 5:25 and I waited for 25 minutes and had to ask for a refund. Baristas were very very slow mowing. Every time I glanced over to the baristas they were either just standing there doing nothing, complaining to each other or moving at a snails pace. I understand they had multiple tickets ahead of me but the pace they were moving was insanely slow. They made one drink every 5 minutes. As someone who works at a high volume coffee shop. A drink should take at most a minute to make. They need to hire more qualified baristas that actually have a passion for making coffee.
Bitty and Beu's coffee shop employs people with disabilities and is more than a coffee shop, it's a statement - of being radically inclusive. In addition to that, the coffee is probably the best I've had in Texas. Show your support 😄
Terrible Matcha latte was so sweet that I had to throw it. I asked for Hazelnut flavor no sugar and corrected to barista directly to only add one pump and no sugar. Mango smoothie was not really a smoothie it was mango pulp blended with water. Look at picture, this happened after merely an hr. My kid was asleep in the car so he did not drink ot right away and this happened. Chai Latte again for a 12oz it was sweet....very sweet. I got a blueberry muffin was average at most. And above all very very pricey.
"More than a cup of coffee" is painted on the side of Bitty & Beau's, and that quote absolutely rings true. If you go online to their website, you will see their story: "Bitty & Beau's Coffee is a human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop, where people with intellectual & developmental disabilities are valued in the workplace. It's a place where diversity isn't just appreciated, it's celebrated." Besides the amazing story, the coffee is actually VERY good, and there's plenty on the menu to choose from. The cafe seating is plentiful. I saw families, students studying, individuals working, and even an interview going on. It's a comfortable and welcoming vibe, but it's also clean and hip. Some neat things they offer: There are flavor add-ins like hazelnut, toasted marshmallow, etc you can add to your order to enhance your flavor experience. There is a really neat pushpin map of the world towards the back of the shop, and if they have pins available you can place one in the location of your home town. There are already hundreds if not thousands of pins in the map. Lastly, when you order you are given a Bitty & Beaus branded playing card, and the baristas will call out your card number when your order is ready. Some tips: The main tip I would add is please be patient. The workers are professional and kind individuals, and they deserve kindness, patience, and respect. I have been here many times, and I've always had an incredible experience. If you get a chance, please support this coffee shop. I would love to see more of them pop up. Cheers!!
The whole idea for Bitty & Beau's coffee is brilliant. I love the business model and what they support as well as the experience at the business. Everyone is very friendly there and if you aren't happy before you go, you should be happy when you leave. We went and were able to talk with the staff and they truly make you feel welcome and like they appreciate you. If I lived closer, I'd be there way more often. It's even a good location to study with plenty of seating options. Very open, not crowded areas as well.
