They towed our car while we were shopping in the store. So please be aware if you want to shop there, as we were there for a while. Either find another parking spot or shop somewhere else.

Towed my car while I was shopping. $300 later. Take caution when parking in their parking lot or even shopping here! Parking lot says for customers and employees only. I as a customer parked in the lot and they towed my car that was there for less than 30 min while I was shopping. This must be how they make their money because they were not helpful in returning my car. Claimed it was fair since I hadn’t made my purchase yet… Now have to pay the $300.00 for my vehicle instead of buying the overpriced coffee table for $425.00. It’s a shame too because the table we wanted to purchase was a perfect gift for my partner.

Picture this: a liminal space that exists frozen in time, the building itself has the look of a Gen-X kids grandmothers secret treasure room and vibration of the 60s or 70’s where relics from ages past go once they’ve been lost. B. J. Oldies is the exact kind of shop and place in general that we MUST keep alive and thriving for always. The wonderful blonde haired femme fatale that either owns or co-owns is always super sweet and helpful, she will tend to you, find what you need if they have it, or lead you to what you didn’t know you needed. Antiques of all sorts & subject matter, ephemera from all decades, toys, silverware, LPs/cds/8 track tapes, vintage clothes, books, patches etc Anything and everything, you won’t be able to see it all in one go. It’s authentic, quirky, and overall fun. I really wish there were more places just like this, but honestly, this is what most antique shops think they accomplish but don’t come close. It’s not polished, sterilized or corporate in any way, and you can tell that all kinds of folks are permitted and judgement isn’t. I advise all people whom have vintage things they must get rid of or antiques sell them to BJ so I can come find them! This and the blue house are the BEST! So when you’re on Westheimer near Montrose on a weekend or you’re just out for a bit, stop by, have a chat, and buy stuff. To be completely honest, when places like this don’t exist anymore we all lose and that’s just unnecessary! Happy digging!

Watch out with how this shop charges your card they do a paper receipt and than add the manual taxes than input that price including the tax into the credit card machine and the price goes up again because they get charged a credit card fee . That shouldn’t be a customers fee because the business is in charge of paying those card fees. The guy in the front was annoying about it because I realized he was charging me more , for big items this fee will add up.They never want to adjust a price either. BRING CASH

Shop has changed so beautifully. The staff is very friendly and will go above and beyond for you. More inventory and anything you would need. From furniture, toys, lamps, tons of rare records, jewelry, kitchen goods, statues, crystals, clothes, glassware and way more. You can't miss out!
