My sister and I had our first tattoos done here. My partner suggested this shop since he'd had a great experience here years ago. Our artist Carolyn was friendly, calm, and professional. When I began explaining the story behind our idea, she sat down with me and listened respectfully and intently. I got the sense that she didn't see our appointment as just another day in the office, but that she understands that each tattoo is special and treats each client as an individual. She had a flawless stencil done within ten minutes. Throughout the process her vibe was fun and easygoing. She loves what she does and it shows! The work itself is perfect, and we could not be happier. I didn't catch the receptionist's name, but her demeanor stood out to me as super welcoming and kind when we first walked in, which went a long way for my nerves. I spoke with her a little bit afterward and she shared that since many parlors are intimidating, she considers it important to create a welcoming atmosphere. Black Heart certainly succeeds! It's also worth noting that their playlist that day was super rad. I live in another state, but I would love to have another piece done by Carolyn if the stars align.
