My wife and I got small fine line tattoos done by Rye and Aaron. Both artists did a fantastic job. We will use Black Moon Tattoo for all our tattoo needs.

I have been going to Black Moon as a regular for almost three years this spring. My go-to artist is Derek Anderson and he always pulls through with amazing work that you can tell he puts his heart and soul into. He is so proud of his work and I couldn’t be more proud to walk around with it forever. I can not recommend him enough!! As a woman, having a tattoo artist and studio who makes me feel comfortable in such an environment is so so so crucial. Derek has never ever once done or said anything to make me feel anything other than safe and comfortable. He is so personable, honest and friendly. Him along with the rest of the guys at Black Moon have always been super nice, chill and make the studio as welcoming as possible. Truly an amazing place in the Madison area! (The cowboys, vase and pug are all done by Derek)

The video does not do justice for how awesome this super fortress and atomic bombs turned out. This was the first tattoo I received from Derek at Black Moon and couldn’t be happier. I have since had Derek also start an entire back piece and complete a few little bangers along the way. The shop has a super easy going and fun atmosphere. All of the artists there are a blast to be around and make sitting under the needle for hours over all more enjoyable. I’d highly recommend Black Moon.

If you are looking for a traditional style tattoo this is the place to go! I have been going to black moon since I turned 18. I have 14 tattoos from here now. I have never had one bad experience. I have been tattooed by both Aidan and Rye. They both have been nothing but wonderful every single time. Both artist really care about the quality of their work and it shows! I It’s the best shop in Madison! I got my cat as a memorial piece for when he passed and I had Aidan do it. I was not expecting it to look exactly like him being traditional style and not realism but it 100% does.

My husband and I both have gotten multiple tattoos done here. Zack, Rye, Derrick, & Aiden are all super nice guys who truly care for the art that they put out. I will always recommend them.
