The experience is great! There is a bar, restrooms on board and gorgeous views of the bay along the ride! Keep your eyes peeled and your head on a swivel because you can see sea lions, dolphins and even whales on the ride! Of note, all ferry’s are priced the same if you are just paying outright for a one time ticket. However, If you have a “clipper card” , it’s about half the price if you take “the Golden Gate Ferry” instead of this one. If you are using public transit to travel around San Francisco even for just a weekend, It’s worth it to get the “Clipper card” app on your phone . If you’d prefer not to do that, Blue & Gold fleet is a fantastic option and just about $15 each way (they charge an extra dollar when using card instead of cash)! At any rate, Riding the ferry is a beautiful experience that I wouldn’t leave San Francisco without!

We went on the 60 minute bay cruise. The views of the city, bridge and Alcatraz were great. The audio guide was really interesting and informative. Just the right amount of detail whilst giving a good flavour of the history of the bay area.

It’s a great experience on the Blue & Gold ferry. We went on a Monday so it’s not very crowded. We purchased the tickets ahead of time so we were able to get some discounts but still a bit expensive. About $27/person. The check-in was a breeze since we arrived a bit late and everyone was onboard already. The boat was a bit old due to wears and tears. It has 3 levels and plenty of seats and space inside the cabin or outside. The top level was filled. So we stayed at second floor. The ride was nice and smooth. Beautiful sights of the bay and the city building. The automated guide was great. Just enough information but very informative. We had a blast seeing the view under the bridge. A very different perspective on the bridge from the ferry. Highly recommended. Around Alcatraz was interesting, but the smell was a bit strong around that area. Not sure if it’s came from the island or somewhere else. We got lucky because we saw a few bottled nose dolphins swam closed by. Overall a great experience with lots of things to see and many photo ops.

We took the 1 hour cruise around San Francisco Bay and it was an unforgettable experience! Best views on the boat is the top deck. It was so fun to see San Francisco from the water. The boat travels west from the dock and there is fantastic views into the city. Next the boat travels underneath the Golden Gate Bridge for an amazing experience! Look left underneath the bridge and you can see Fort Point National Monument. The boat makes the turn back shortly after going under the bridge. Great views into Sausalito, Tiburon and the shores of Angel Island. I rate this experience as absolutely unbelievable and this cruise gets 1 million stars!
