Today’s 2 hour intro class today with Captain Brian was wonderful! We started from Fisherman’s Terminal and motored into Lake Union and back. During that time we learned about the boat and some rules of the water including right of way. We got to practice starting, going forward, reversing, turning, and docking the boat. I had never docked a power boat before so I was a little apprehensive, but Brian was such a good teacher that I ended up doing much better than I thought I would. I will definitely be checking out the boats through Boatsetter and getting my boating license. It’s so lovely being on the water.

We took the free Boatsetter Academy course with Captain Dan and it was so fun! I'd never had a chance to drive a boat before, but Captain Dan had us step up and take the wheel right from the start. He's very friendly and has plenty of interesting stories to share. It was a great time and we learned a lot about what is involved in piloting a boat - highly recommended!

Really enjoyed the free 2hr Boatsetter Academy introduction to boating lesson. Our captain Andy was very personable, and we each had a turn at driving the boat. I wouldn't have minded learning a few more technical manoeuvres such as reversing and pivot turning, but can't complain because a) the lesson was free, and b) it was a spectacular evening to be out on the Potomac and enjoying some if the iconic sights of DC. Have already recommended this experience to some friends and colleagues.

Super fun experience! Me and a few friends did the 2 hour FREE boating experience and it was epic! We got to drive a smaller yacht style boat with Captain Dan! He was a very knowledgeable guide and gave us really great information during the tour. 10/10 experience. Made me want to be out at sea more often! Thank you Captain Dan!! Oh and I Definitely recommend carpooling n arriving early if your going on the weekend!- parking at Ballast was wild. The boat leaves ONTIME.

Captain Dan has so much knowledge and experience on the water. His teaching style is laid back and easy to learn. From terminology (don't call it a bumper) to boating etiquette he knows everything. He answered all of my questions and ensured that I had as much time at the helm as possible. If you are thinking of purchasing a boat please take this course before you do. Renting a boat for a day is so much easier than being a full time boat owner. Thank you Captain Dan!
