I do not recommend Book Keeping and Beyond (BKBY) based in Texas. I was referred to them, and while they did a decent job in the beginning, that changed dramatically a couple of years ago. Since then, it’s been a steady decline. For over a year, I’ve been battling with BKBY just to get my taxes completed—while paying nearly $1,200/month to them. At one point, they even doubled my monthly fee, only to stop fully doing the very work they were contracted to complete. Despite giving them multiple chances and clearly communicating my concerns, nothing improved. Key issues included: • I was supposed to receive monthly Profit & Loss statements—I never got them. • My employees’ paychecks were frequently incorrect. • BKBY was contracted to review payroll and flagged reports in our software—this clearly wasn’t happening. • They were also supposed to transfer funds between accounts to cover credit card payments, but failed to do so, causing a hit to my business credit starting about a year ago and unnecessary interest charges that continued. • They missed over $60,000 in fraud (confirmed to be fraud by my bank) on my account, and I never could’ve caught it because I never got a P&L or monthly review of transactions with them. They simply marked it as a new equipment cost and never brought it to my attention! • And the list goes on… Eventually, after once again voicing my concerns about their unfulfilled contractual work, BKBY chose to end services rather than address the issues. But even after our professional relationship ended, they refused to deliver the documents and information they explicitly agreed to provide. For over three months, they’ve claimed they’re “diligently working on completing my 2023 taxes”—but still, nothing has been done. Worse, they stated they would not do 2024 taxes—even though I paid them monthly through all of 2024, and the books should have been kept up to date. My new bookkeeper, who was hired to clean up the mess, has confirmed how incomplete and disorganized everything is (by the way, she saw the fraud immediately). Even my accountant has reached out to them trying to get what we need to simply file my taxes for the last two years—still no response. To make matters worse, Book Keeping and Beyond set up my QuickBooks account under their own name, promising it would be transferred back to me if we ever parted ways. They are now refusing to release access, ignoring all calls and emails. This means certain expenses cannot be corrected or edited because they have the admin password. At this point, I’m being forced to consider legal action just to recover my own data and $25,000+ in services that were never fulfilled. BKBY has completely failed to meet their contractual and ethical obligations. Their lack of follow-through, disorganization, poor communication (internally and externally), payroll errors, and refusal to return access to critical platforms like QuickBooks have left me in a far worse financial position than when I started with them. Business owners—only after explicitly voicing these concerns to them for over a year have I finally decided to publicly tell you to steer clear of BKBY. If you value your business, your time, and your financial clarity, I strongly recommend finding a more proficient and ethical bookkeeping firm.

Edit: I have been working with BKBY for several years, and have recently had Brigette join as the lead on my account. She is so responsive, and quickly gets my needs taken care of. I'm able to use BKBY as my 'in house' accounting and billing department for my small business. They handle all of my invoicing, payroll, and bookkeeping needs. Always friendly and ready to help! Original Review: I have been working with BKBY for my small business bookkeeping needs. Sandra takes the time to review my books with me, allowing me to be involved and ask questions about transactions or software specific tools/functions. She understands the nuances of my business' market sector, and makes great suggestions on invoicing clients, and records organization.

My experience with Bookkeeping & Beyond has been absolutely amazing! They are super responsive and knowledgeable, and always there to help. Sandra has helped us set up our Quickbooks from scratch, and while the team can take care of all bookkeeping needs, she has also gone above and beyond to make sure we understand an added layer of detail to maintaining our books and teach us about all the different tools we could be using to make them easier to manage.
