ive been coming to this bookstore for a couple of years, usually just to shop. i love the ambiance and the selection of books they have so this is my go-to. i had finals about three weeks ago and decided to try studying here for a change so i came at about noon on a sunday during finals week. i was expecting it to be busy, and it was (as i expected), so i did some shopping whilst i waited for a table to open up. i got a table and set up, then waited for about 10 minutes for a server. 10 minutes passed and the people who came after me got attended to first and i still hadn’t. it wasn’t a big deal as i knew they were busy so i got up to see if i could order or let them know i was still waiting to be served. i let the girl at the café know and she kind of snapped at me and let me know that i have to order from the table and that she’d send someone over now. i sat back down and studied for about another hour, with still no one coming to my table. the same girl at the café came to attend the table next to me and i ended up leaving without ordering anything. again, i understand that it was busy and i love coming here but i usually avoid interactions with the employees as they’re usually not super pleasant and this experience just cemented it. i’m also a barista at a similar café and i left feeling like i was brushed over and ignored for the hour i was there, especially since i tried to go up to order to make it easier on them.

Love this bookstore. I’ll make the drive just to come here. You can tell what their ethics are by the books that they sell. They are welcoming, inclusive, and friendly. They have a cafe but mostly sell lunch-ish food, not so much for dinner (salads, sandwiches). I wish they did! They have beer and wine and also have indoor and outdoor seating. Overall it’s just so nice. They have live music on certain days. The parking situation is kind of a pain but that’s how it is in the Gables. Def come for a cute date night or if you want to come alone to enjoy a good book 🤗📚🤎

Super chill spot to read, listen to jazzy music, or to just hang out in a quiet, classy spot. Obviously there are a ton of books, but there is also a lovely café to order food, coffee, and other sweets. And the bar is open in the evenings, along with some live music on the weekends. A great vibe every time.

Amazing spot. Very laid-back and chill vibes. Place was amazing. Felt like a old school book shop. There’s even a restaurant and Cafe or you can order drinks while you check out your book or magazine in the patio. I spent about an hour here today. If you’re into books, I highly recommend this place. Prices are affordable as well. Nothing is inflated. The workers were also very helpful. I would definitely be coming back soon.

One I love the courtyard area and on the weekends they have live muisc. There's plenty of seating outside, but limited space inside if you want to sit down work or eat. They have a large variety of books, in both English and Spanish. I also adored the postcard selection they had and the dark wood exterior.
