On 9/26/25 I went to box lunch and spent 153.00 and they gave me three coupons. My sister has an account with them so she has her own coupons. On 10/30/25 she went shopping there and I gave her my coupons since she was going and she might want to use it. When she checked out and gave her phone number to them and she has 6 coupons with her and they told her that her account only has 3 coupons she can use. She was fine with it, but then the Employee girl name Sam told her that those other three was not valid therefore they have to confiscate it. So they took it from her. My sister was fine with just using three, but the other three was mine. So why did they take it, if we are not allow to use why give it to us in the first place? Online it says max 10 per transaction. I called customer service, but they said I have to go back to the store and argue with them to get it back. I guess that is corporate for you. It's some stupid coupon but it's about ethical and professionalism and taking care of your customer. My question is if she cannot use the coupons, why take it away from her? Keep the three she used, but at least give her back the other three. If I am wrong, please educate me. My family and friends will no longer be going there. Very disappointing.
I felt like I almost got scammed by the guy named Bryan, who lied straight to my face and told me he had already applied the two $20 coupons to my $125 bill. It started when Bryan greeted me, checked my account, and explained a bunch of promotions. He told me I could use my two digital coupons (each $20 off) that were showing in their system. Even though I had brought my two physical coupons, he said I didn’t need to show them. I specifically asked if the $125 total already included the coupons, and without hesitation he told me “yes.” When I checked my receipt later, I saw that no coupons had been applied. I had my husband ask about the coupons. Bryan then said, “Oh, you need the physical coupons to get the promotion.” At that point I was fed up and told him, “You were the one who checked my account from the beginning and told me I didn’t need the physical coupons—why are you saying now that I do?” I took out my physical coupons to prove it and stop what felt like a scam. Bryan then asked Maya to help process a $40 refund. However, Maya took away the new coupons that were attached to my receipt and said it was store policy not to issue future coupons when one is used on a purchase. I honestly don’t care about the damn coupons—I care about the service. First, Bryan tried to make me spend over $80 to use my coupons but didn’t apply them at checkout, and then Maya insisted I wasn’t entitled to the new coupons after they had already made a mistake. On top of that, I don’t recall either of them apologizing for the inconvenience. Instead, Maya kept talking back when I suggested the employees needed better training. She only stopped when I said, “This is the last time I’ll shop here and I won’t be back.” Shopping at BoxLunch is supposed to be enjoyable, but my experience here was the opposite. I was made to feel like I had to beg for a discount I was already entitled to, while dealing with misleading information and unprofessional behavior. Why would I want to come back after that?
