This restaurant opened about a year ago and boy are we glad it did! The wood fire pizza has the perfect combo of crispy crust on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pizza toppings are top notch and some of the best pizza in RVA! High recommend the signature burrata because the sliced pork cheek is next level! (Think bacon but on steroids!) The pasta is handmade and you can taste the freshness! Seriously so good! The Hanger Steak was next level, it had a beautiful char on the outside but cooked to a perfect medium rare! You don’t see Hanger steak often so we were very excited as it is one of the best cuts of beef you will ever eat! If you have never had fried polenta you simply must order the Shrimp & Fried Polenta. The best way to eat here is to order several dishes for the table and share everything. This way everyone gets a taste of several yummy dishes they have to offer. If you’re looking for a great place for a date night or somewhere to take the whole family then look no further! There isn’t a bad dish on the menu 10/10 would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!
Not only are the pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, but even the lettuce in the Caesar salad picks up a subtle smoky flavor. The meatballs are tender and juicy, served in a slightly sweet tomato sauce. I kept dipping my pizza into the sauce even after all the meatballs were gone.
This restaurant was alright. The meatballs were the star. The taste was great, they were moist and perfection. The plating was very good. The calamari was a bit over cooked and oily. Broccolini, I've hadmuch better. The arugula salad was very good. I was disappointed that the pizza was lopsided. Yah, that's being really picky but this style of pizza is about the craftsmanship, the perfect crust and perfect char. The taste was a 4. The char was on point. There were chanterelle mushrooms so that made me happy. It was really cold out so that may have tainted my impression of the environment. So I'll give them a 4 but grudgingly, I'll have to try them again.
Y'all!! Take a trip to Brickfire! The staff is friendly, and the food is ridiculously good. The dates with goat cheese is divine. The burrata appetizer had so much flavor, and was big enough to share. Good lighting, good music!
This place was amazing. I have several dietary restrictions including gluten and dairy. This is a brick oven pizza place and still I was able to eat like a queen. Sam the chef and part Owner came out and spoke with me directly. He then created dishes that I could enjoy. I am usually unable to eat when I’m at a conference with colleagues but Sam accommodated my needs and prepared not one but two amazing dishes for me. This place has friendly staff, nice atmosphere and they really care about their customers. I recommend it to folks who live in Richmond and folks traveling through as well. Well done.
