This is a darn fine smashburger! So many places say they have them but they just don’t have the crispy crunch bits that make a real smashburger a delight. They certainly do here! When we arrived we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was great and incredibly friendly. The restaurant itself was clean and very inviting. In addition to the burger we had the fried pickles which are prepared on site and are very tasty. Great spot for your burger fix!
Probably one of the best burgers I've had anywhere in the country. The staff were super nice and accommodating. There was a 30 min wait but rightfully so, the burgers were INCREDIBLE. it's a 30 min drive from our house but I'll gladly do it. Burger was outstanding. The fries (cooked in beef tallow) were also amazing. Afterwards the owner brought out a desert (Ice box cake) that he mentioned was his grandmother's recipe. That was also amazing. Just an awesome experience. Amazing burgers, great atmosphere and amazing staff.
We had previously tried to come here on a Friday night but there was an hour+ long wait. We came back early in the evening on a weeknight and got in with no issue. Service was extremely friendly and we enjoyed the retro/family friendly feel to the restaurant. We got the Schmurger and the Claremont Hotel. Both were cooked extremely well but the Schmurger was my preference between the two. The fries were fantastic and so were the fried pickles. Overall, this is definitely one of the better smash burgers in the area but I wouldn’t wait over an hour for it if that situation occurred again.
When we first walked in, I was amazed by the retro decor with a modern twist. It was so colorful & cute! We sat outside in the patio. Although the sun directly shone at me, the shade did a wonderful job blocking its ray. I was not blinded at all. We ordered the poutine, Maverick burger w/ onion string, & “burger” of the month. The poutine portion was humongous! They def did not skimp on fries & gravy. While I enjoyed the decadence gravy, the fries were over-salted. Therefore, it was difficult to enjoy the dish. The cheese was ok, it didn’t taste like anything. As for my Maverick burger, I was surprised at how small it was… I understand smash burgers could be small, but it felt like I was eating a kid’s burger. Despite this, the crispy & thin meat was delicious! This item also leaned on the saltier side, so it was hard to finish it. Now when I tell you they don’t lie about the onion strings, I meant it!!! They were my FAVORITE. The onion strings were surprisingly thin & had a sweetness to them. They would be sooo good reheated in the air fryer. Lastly, for the “burger” of the month, it was a Thanksgiving hot dog. Definitely something different & out of our comfort zone, but we glad we tried it!
Burger Schmurger absolutely nails the classic burger bar experience with a modern twist. The second you walk in, you’re hit with that retro diner vibe — yellow booths, neon lighting, and a chill, welcoming atmosphere that just feels fun. The place is spotless and full of good energy, with TVs playing sports and a well-stocked bar that keeps things lively. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries, and it was spot-on. The patty had that perfect smash-burger crust, the bun was soft and fresh, and every bite was packed with flavor. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right — simple but done perfectly. I also tried the mozzarella sticks, which came out hot and gooey with great dipping sauces that actually tasted homemade. Service was fast, the staff was friendly, and everything came out fresh and nicely presented. You can tell they take pride in both the food and the overall experience. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or hanging out with friends, Burger Schmurger hits the mark. It’s one of those places you walk out of thinking, “I’m definitely coming back.”
