2nd time visiting with family.. Its a bit pricy for a very few selection on the menu. Bar serves great drinks, service took long than expected. Not the worse steak i had, but far from good. Overall the place is nice but food could be better.

We were in Winston at the hospital with a loved one on Thanksgiving day. This was a pleasant surprise. Excellent cocktails prepared by Jay. Nice appetizers and quality entrées. Nice modern atmosphere with access to sports events on TV in the bar.

I’ve heard so many good things about this place, so of course I had to come check it out. I visited over the past week for a couple quick drinks while I finished up some work on my laptop & was thoroughly impressed. Not just by my food & drinks but by the cleanliness of the restaurant & the attentiveness of my server, Eriqa. I wasn’t going to order anything besides my wine as I had plans to make dinner, but the way Eriqa talked about the food, I HAD to try something. I decided on the wings. Full of flavor & juicy meat, I made the right choice. I’ll come back to sit in Eriqa’s section again to explore the rest of the menu.

Flavor wise, the ribeye was bland and the chimichurri wasn’t for my taste. I didn’t add salt or pepper but it would’ve definitely improved the steak. The steak was cooked a little rarer as I asked for medium but it was still cooked well. The Mac n cheese was great but the fries weren’t anything to go crazy for. The portion size was nice though even tho it was $8 each I give it 3/5 because of the price and flavor. I know it’s a restaurant in a hotel but I made the mistake of not seeing the steak house around the corner “spotted cow” as they are cheaper but idk if the food is better. At least for $40 you get a ribeye and 2 sides. I won’t be eating here again when I’m back in Winston Salem but it wasn’t like it was horrible. $45 rib eye. $3 for chimichurri and $8 each for sides.

We had dinner at Butcher & Bull and overall enjoyed the experience. I started with an extra dirty martini that was well made, and we shared the buffalo cauliflower appetizer, which was flavorful and had a nice kick. For entrées, we had the black garlic miso glazed halibut with spinach, brown butter fregola, and scallions, also had the 8oz cab filet topped with shrimp and lobster tail, with potatoes and mushrooms on the side. Both dishes were good, though not quite “wow” or unforgettable. What really stood out was the service attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced. All in all, a solid dining experience with excellent hospitality.
