Mudd, barista with the faux hawk, served pompous, douchey vibes. Pretended to check his watch (he wasn't wearing one) while I was giving my order. This happened about 15 seconds into stepping up to the register. I did come in super tired after a very long day, so was talking slow, but I was the only one in line, no one was waiting behind me and he was immediately passive and impatient, blatantly rude. I asked a simple question on what their herbal tea tasted like, to gather an idea for a flavor profile, and he simply said, "You've never had Mossimini before..?" Rolled he eyes, and followed up with, "It tastes like, herbal tea." Dude smirked at me, was so weird and disgusting. I didn't say anything rude back, didn't give him an attitude, just pretended like I didn't notice a thing. Tipped 20%, walked away with my tea, which basically tasted like water, and left. This place was recommended to me, which is why I went.
Dropped in to Caffetto Cafe for a coffee and a quick sailor fude fountain pen sketch. Snow, ice and heavy metal music - oddly soothing. The Caffeto on 24th St just west of Lyndale, it's a funky place know for dirty chai and chocolate cake, filled with an eclectic collection of everything, a basement of arcade machines, open late and full of highly sketchable interesting people. Highly recommend for sketchers urban.
with how cute the vibes of this place was, I was really disappointed with the drinks. flavor-wise, the drinks tasted fine, just very very average "espresso and milk" that tastes like you could make it at home. the cappuccino that I ordered was just a bubbly latte, not even remotely close to how cappuccino foam should be. overall, it could be a nice place to chill at to do work or something, but absolutely not a place I would go to for good drinks (especially given how many other GREAT places there are around.)
I love this coffee shop and always stop there when I’m in the neighborhood. The best latte, imho, in the twin cities. The sun shines over the few outdoor seats and in the front door of this dark, comforting space. Dated, dusty decor- in all the best ways!
My date introduced me to this place. I love the Hot Chocolate and the Dirty Chai Tea. I had the chocolate cake as well, and it was rich and delicious! The jewelry is chic and affordable. I bought a beautiful pair of star earrings today. I love supporting local! The service was good. Nothing too exceptional. The drinks were made in a timely manner. And the barista was nice. I love the dichotomy between the upstairs and downstairs area of Caffetto! The downstairs portion is my favorite! I love the graffiti and pinball machines! It's very aesthetically pleasing, and it makes for a fun place for a date!
