TL;DR - If he can't provide a quote in two months with multiple follow-ups, would he ever responded if I needed help with a claim? Full disclosure: I was never actually able to get a policy with Stafford Jacobs and CAL Insurance. I reached out to Stafford in March based on a recommendation. I explained what I needed, and that one policy expired in early May, so there was both a reasonable amount of time to figure out policies and a time constraint. * I sent him the requested documents and filled out all of the requested forms. * Three weeks later, no response, so I followed up. He had COVID and asked if he could response the following week. * Two week later, one of my policies is now *expired* (which is what I was trying to avoid when contacting him in May), but I still have nothing from Stafford, so I follow up again. Now he needs more information (that he could have asked for six weeks before), so I provide that. "Received and downloaded," he says. * Now, another two weeks later, two full months after I originally contacted him, I still have absolutely nothing. I was trying to go through a recommended local agent because I was tired of talking to a drone at a call center who knew nothing about me and who just referred me to another department to get anything done. But if I am still waiting, after two full months and half-a-dozen attempts at follow-up to get a quote from CAL Insurance, would I have any hope that they would actually be helpful if I needed to file a claim? Definitely not.

CAL Insurance is one of the best around. Joe Delucchi has built an incredible business that retains that local SF feel. I can't say that I've been to so many social events in another insurance broker's office! Stafford Jacobs handles all of my commercial insurance needs and really makes the complicated easy. He takes the headache out of insurance and is an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend CAL.

We got introduced to one of the CAL agency partners through a mutual connection in order to secure a general liability insurance for our startup company. We were required to provide the proof of insurance to an external partner within 90 days. To our shock and amaze, the person took pretty much until the deadline to provide a quote. Once the quote was provided it was embarrassingly high price from a provider with low ratings. Perhaps this is also a self criticism that we were too patient with them. But in no good conscious I am able to recommend their service to any business or individual.
