Cal Painting & Plastering just completed a paint and stucco project for our home in Santa Clara, and it is a pleasure to write a five-star review for them. Their work is an investment in our home that enhances its appearance and will protect it for many years to come. From the first phone call to request an estimate to the last items on the punch list, project manager Jake is the best we’ve ever met in more than 35 years of home ownership. He informed us about the advantages of acrylic stucco and the details of weep screed installation, as well as the latest in paint and painting methods. The proposal that we approved was clear, detailed and written well. Jake’s timely and professional communication by telephone, text and email gave us confidence that our home would benefit from thorough preparation and careful application of top-quality materials. Cal Painting & Plastering employs an experienced staff of skilled craftsmen for every step of the job, and we were impressed by the ways in which they paid attention to details. For example, they ensured that the depth of the weep screed on every wall would match the thickness of our original stucco for a smooth and straight finish. Our project included demolition of original stucco along the foundation, installation of weep screed and lath, application of a new cement coat, painting of the wood surfaces and gutters, and application of acrylic primer and two coats of acrylic stucco. The acrylic stucco has an attractive, modern texture and it incorporates our selected color, which will reduce our cost of maintenance. Despite the modest size of our home and the relatively simple scope of stucco and paint work, it was inevitable that unforeseen issues with materials, application and schedule would arise. On those occasions, Jake always distinguished himself through responsive communication with us and with the craftsmen at our home. Cal Painting & Plastering owner Billy paid personal attention to the progress of our project from start to finish. He was clearly committed to its success and to our satisfaction, even before he stopped by to see the progress for himself on a holiday weekend. I cannot say enough good things about Billie and his crew. Everyone was fantastic and did great work with attention to detail. They checked all worked to make sure it was done as agreed. I couldn’t be happier and would recommend to anybody. We had painting and stucco repair work done. They worked a miracle on the stucco repair job. I couldn’t find anyone to fix the stucco around our front door. It was a problem that needed to be solved and they took it on did a beautiful job. I couldn’t be happier and it looks beautiful and like there was never a problem at all!
