First time at this Cam Bow Wow location. They were perfect. We were in town and needed an all day play spot while visiting friends. Our plans evolved and it made more sense to board the doggos while in town. The team were very accomodating and adapted on the spot to modify our reservation. And...they were gracious. All this went down while they were adjusting to a localized one block power outage. Thank you! Special shout out to Hailey.
Camp Bow Wow – Boarding & Daycare Review I’m leaving this as a five-star review on purpose, because I want people to actually read it — not because my experience deserves five stars, because it deserves 0 Stars I used to take my dog, Foxy Brown, to Camp Bow Wow regularly for boarding and doggie daycare. I trusted this place with my dog, and unfortunately, that trust was broken — several times. The first incident happened after I paid for grooming services. When my dog was brought out to me, she had feces all over her backside, to the point where it was clear she had sat in it. This is NOT normal behavior for my dog. Anyone who knows her knows she does not soil herself. The only reasonable explanation is that she was not given adequate space or opportunity to relieve herself, and then was returned to me in that condition — after I paid for grooming. I immediately informed management. I was upset, but I treated it as a serious issue that needed to be addressed and hoped it was a one-time mistake. It wasn’t. The second incident was worse — and this time, grooming wasn’t even involved. When Foxy Brown was brought out to me, there was so much feces on her that it was literally falling off as she walked. It was obvious she had sat in it. This was not subtle. This was not something that could be “missed.” Anyone could see it. What made this situation unacceptable was the staff’s response. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told that if I had come earlier, “maybe she would have had time.” They close at 7:00 PM. I arrived at 6:30 PM — well within pickup time. Then I was told they “didn’t understand why it happened.” I’m sorry, but it was very clear what happened. Things escalated because I was understandably angry — and instead of de-escalating, apologizing, or taking accountability, I was met with defensiveness and attitude. To make matters worse, I was initially refused anything to clean my dog. I had to insist that I was not leaving until I was given soap and something wet to clean her myself — something that should have been done before she was brought out to me. At one point, staff even mentioned calling the police. They did not — and eventually I was given supplies and cleaned my dog myself. This experience showed me a lack of care, accountability, and professionalism. If someone does not want to deal with dogs having accidents, then this is the wrong line of work. Cleaning up messes is part of animal care — full stop. I am posting this because people deserve to know who they are trusting their pets with. Dogs can’t speak for themselves. How a business handles mistakes tells you everything.
The staff is pleasant and courteous. Cameras are positioned in each area and customers can watch their fur babies from the reception area. Before the dog is accepted the humans and dog(s) go through an "interview." Great idea!
My dog was attacked here, left with a gash on her head, and I was stuck with the vet bills. I trusted this daycare with my dog 5 days a week for almost 6 months. The staff always raved about how sweet and well-behaved she was. Then one day, I picked her up and discovered a deep wound on her head that required stitches. When I called, they admitted she was attacked by another dog while in their care. Their “solution” was to not charge me for that day—while I paid hundreds of dollars in vet bills. I asked to see the video of the incident (they stream live video for owners every day), but they refused to show it. Instead, they tried to shift the blame onto my dog—even though they confirmed the other dog was being written up. The more I pushed for answers, the more clear it became they were hiding the truth. Finally, when I demanded accountability, they banned my dog and called her “too aggressive.” This place is not safe. They failed to protect my dog, refused transparency, and then tried to cover it up. Do not take your dog here—you’re risking their safety. Response to Owner: What’s ironic is that the people claiming my comments are inaccurate are the same ones refusing to show the video evidence. If the video shows what you say, why would you not show it to me? And if this “scuffle” that left my dog needing stitches happened right next to a counselor as you claim, then how did no one notice she had a large open gash in her head before sending her home?
I've been bringing my 16 y/o huskies-dogs here for the last three years. This has been a fantastic place to come for daycare and overnight boarding. My dogs are very senior and they take very good care of them. Even when one of my huskies passed away recently, they were so kind and considerate. 🐶❤️❤️❤️🐶 I always recommend this place for my dog parent friends in south Reno. Overall review:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This place is extremely easy to schedule a time for daycare or boarding. You can call online or the app. I've never had an issue trying to get a booking when calling ahead. The stay is extremely kind and nice when I check in/out. My dogs had never had an emergency or issue while they were there. Experiences:❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ They have these cute little photo/treat sessions with all the holidays. They're great to have that some other dog daycares do, but are 2X-3X the price. I love bringing my dog in just for these. Pricing: 👌 I think they're in the middle of the road cost compared to other places I take my dogs too. I think it's a pretty standard fee. However, knowing my dogs are taken care of is a great peace of mind. Facility:🧼 It's always clean when I bring my dog in, other places we have been too are not this clean. They have cameras so you can use the app to check in on your dog. There is easy parking. This is by far the closest and best place for me living in South Reno - Damonte Ranch area for dog boarding and daycare!
