STAY AWAY! I ignored the low ratings and negative reviews for Capitol Wholesale Nursery believing they were an anomaly and not the way Robert Leekley, the owner and proprietor of CWN for 40 years, conducted business. I was wrong and ended up with one of the worst experiences I have had with a business. It is so bad that I had no other alternative, but to open a dispute via my credit card company to attempt to reclaim my loses due to Capitol Wholesale Nursery. I purchased a brand named $200+ fruit tree from Capitol Wholesale Nursery which I did not realize was diseased. It had a few disfigured leaves which I assumed was normal since the salesperson sold me the tree. Over the next several days and weeks the leaves on the tree became more disfigured and as the fruit came in it was also wrinkled and disfigured. I had a gardener look at it and he explained that the tree was diseased. I know these issues happen and I thought if I just called Capitol Wholesale Nursery and explained the situation they would want to quickly make it right. I was surprised when Capitol Wholesale Nursery and the owner refused to exchange the tree or even just allow me to bring it back for a refund. They explained that I could spray the tree with a treatment and hope that it came back next season. I was told that Robert Leekley's message to me was the same. Every company encounters problems and makes mistakes - this is part of life. It is how the company addresses a problem with a customer that matters and differentiates them. In this case, it is now clear to me that Capitol Wholesale Nursery and Robert Leekley only want your money and once they have it you and your satisfaction no longer matter. It is unfortunate, but I will never patronize Capitol Wholesale Nursery again. I can only share my story with you so that you are not taken. I have since found an amazing genuine wholesale nursery with the best employees, plants that are the healthiest and most well maintained I have ever seen, and prices that are less than half of Capitol Wholesale Nursery.
I came here a handful of times and completely love it!!!! They have various options and now for facts!! They have parking inside, I had previously parked outside but now knowing they have parking inside is great especially when you are purchasing multiple plants. They do have restrooms on the property. They do accept card as well and apple pay. They have QR codes!! The QR codes will lead you to a website in which you can search the plant to wish to purchase and it will determine the price based of the size of the pot. They were very nice and is on the top of my list of places to go.
Great selection of plants, including lots of natives, and cheaper than other nurseries. You either have to pick up the plants yourself using one of their wagons, or give them a list and they'll do it for you.
Nurseries should not look neglected and this one does. I did not like the fact that a portion of the plants looked shriveled up and sad. The stars are for the staff, they are extremely sweet and helpful! Got a lovely succulent in a bright shade of purple and yellow flowers. Prices are very reasonable.
I spent some time at the nursery and loved it! There were so many plants of different sizes and varieties, and plants I didn't know existed. Many of them I've seen used for landscaping in the community. Robert & the team are an encyclopedia of information on everything in that nursery. The people here are the kindness, most down-to-earth souls you'll ever meet. One of the first and most interesting things I learned was that as a wholesaler, their goal isn't to provide the kind of customer service you'd expect to get at Home Depot. The employees do their best to point customers in the right direction, but their focus is to keep the plants thriving, receiving new plants, and preparing large orders, among many other things needed to keep a nursery running. Show up knowing what you're looking for or be OK to explore on your own, and when you have a question someone will be happy to help you out.
