A lot to see at the Castle - beautiful interior of the castle, lots of details to look at, a climb up to the keep and views of parts of the city, a museum of conflict and war, tunnels which were used as air raid shelter in World War 2, an amazing piece of history with a wall from a Roman Fort built in the 3rd Century AD plus a mural showing what life would have been like back then. Absolutely amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed stepping back in time. Also on site a shop for souvenirs and cafe. Friendly staff.

Cardiff Castle is absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of the city. I stayed at a hostel named Mrs. potts which is very close to the castle and it made my stay even better. The castle is beautiful, full of history, and very well preserved. Walking through the grounds and inside the castle feels like stepping back in time. The interiors are stunning, especially the decorated rooms, and there is so much to see and learn. The views from the castle are also great and worth the visit. The guided visit is great and everything is explained to you through the app. You can listen to the audio guide while you see everything and it makes your experience super rich. I loved it. The location is perfect, right in the city center, and easy to access. Overall, it’s a must-visit place in Cardiff and an unforgettable experience. Not too expensive. Highly recommended. 10/10!

Very beautiful place, interior of the mansion was amazing. You can climb to the top of the castle and get a great view. The tickets also give you access to the museum. I paid adult ticket which was £16.

We spent a lovely morning here. We didn't do the tour to see extra rooms in the castle, but will do that on our next visit. As it had been raining heavily the previous day, and overnight we didn't climb the steps up to the keep as they were looking very slippery and still wet. It is worth a visit.

Cardiff Castle is an absolute must-see if you’re visiting the city. Right in the centre, it blends Roman foundations, medieval walls, and lavish Victorian Gothic interiors in one incredible site. You can wander through the impressive castle apartments, climb the Norman keep for sweeping city views, and explore the old wartime tunnels hidden beneath the walls. Everything is beautifully preserved and full of detail — ornate ceilings, stained glass, intricate woodwork, and fascinating exhibits. The audio guide and staff give great insight into the castle’s long history, from Roman times to World War II. The castle grounds are peaceful and surprisingly spacious given it’s right in the heart of Cardiff, perfect for a stroll or a quiet break from the city bustle. There’s also a lovely café and shop on-site. Whether you’re into history, architecture, or just looking for something iconic to see in Cardiff, this place is well worth the visit!
