If I could give extra credit stars I would. This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars. I am visiting a friend in Montreal from California. I never expected to experience fine Mexican cuisine. Casa Azul Montreal blew us away. The atmosphere is perfect for any occasion, but especially a date night I would say, it is incredible. Lots of space, amazing decor and indoor plants. My friend and I ordered: Tuetanos, Tamarind Margaritas, Limon Daiquiri, Passionfruit Mezcal drink, the Fried crispy tacos, and the enchiladas (mine pollo my friend's vegetarian). The staff were all friendly and attentive. The home made chili oil salsa was world class. I even got to meet the chef. He is humble and gracious and that man can cook. Words fall utterly short. You need to visit this restaurant if you want Mexican food in Montreal.

10/10! So much fun!!! The carne molcajete was amazing, the drinks were incredible and the service was impecable. The restaurant is very beautiful as well. I would recommend this experience to anyone! I highly recommend the mezcal drinks as well as the horchata carajillo (it’s the perfect dessert)

Service - Needs improvement. I stood by the entrance waiting for anyone to get me seated. Later found out that the person in the front was part of the staff (manager) and didn’t bother to help me out. I waited and after 10 min decided to walk myself to a waitress (Camila) and asked for a table. Camila was attentive and went above and beyond to ensure I enjoyed my meal / full experience. Food - Fantastic! Kudos to the workers in the kitchen that are making it happen.

Fantastic service, the food was amazing and atmosphere was relaxing with beautiful Latin jazz playing softly in the background. The decor was also inspiring. We wish Casa Azul continued success.

We went in excited by the rave reviews and the gorgeous decor, and helped out by our pretty and tasty drinks, but left very disappointed. Started off with the Queso Fundido with shrimp, which was alright. Not sure why they said they were garlic shrimp when they weren't. I also think they should remove the tail before dumping it in the cheese. The big problem was the 70 dollar Carne Molcajete. It was recommended to us by the server and it was completely tasteless. My friend and I were surprised by how unseasoned and low quality it was for that price. The chicken was just boiled and thrown in there. The beef was stringy. The sausage was fine but not like any chorizo I've had. The black beans were red and plain, the rice was mushy and tasteless, the guacamole was generic. The sauce that was thrown on tasted exactly like canned tomato paste. We asked if there were any other sauces/salsas available, and she said there was only the enchilada one but didn't offer it. We literally took most of it to go to season it ourselves at home since we hate wasting food. Throughout the meal we found ourselves slathering on the provided chili oil because there wasn't any real flavour to any of it. The service from the girl wearing black with earbuds was mediocre at best. The girl in the cardigan was friendly and accommodating. My friend says we waited over an hour for our main but I didn't notice myself. If that was the case they should let us know. I liked my Mezcal and horchata drink was desserty. The mezcal, Licor 43, chocolate drink was tasty as well. Both were well presented. Maybe go for the drinks and the mole enchiladas, those sounded more promising.
