TWIN is your girl! I was never into manicures, and Twin was SO lovely and patient and amazing for my first appointment - she explained the different options to me so that we could pick exactly what was right for me (length, dip with gel, color, etc.) and all of her help ended up being spot-on because I loved my result! My first dip and gel lasted BEAUTIFULLY (zero chips/breaks), and I decided to come back for another dip and gel after >2.5 weeks only because of my nail growth at the cuticle. This time I opted for dip with gel, French tips and chrome powder! I feel confident saying I will be a regular at CWE Nails & Spa with Twin!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Central West End Nail on 11/24, and unfortunately I will not be returning. That morning, I called to ask whether a nail tech was available to do a reverse French manicure. The person on the phone said yes and booked me with Tuyen for 12:15 PM. When I arrived, I noticed immediately that Tuyen was still with another client, and based on my observation, there was no way I would be seen at that time. I went to the desk and politely asked another associate if I could reschedule with Tuyen since she was clearly occupied. Instead of the associate helping me, they walked me over to Tuyen in the middle of her service. Tuyen responded to me coldly and rudely, saying, “I will not see you right now.” I attempted to ask if there was a better time that afternoon, but before I could finish my sentence, she cut me off, snapping, “I will not see you today,” and said that another tech could take me. She never once looked up or acknowledged me with even basic courtesy. As a person of color, being dismissed that abruptly and publicly was deeply embarrassing and uncomfortable. I asked if another tech was skilled in reverse French, and I was told, “They’re all good.” Unfortunately, that was not true. While Nina was kind, she was not able to do the style, and I ended up with a basic French manicure that was uneven and inconsistent from finger to finger. I appreciated her effort, but the quality was not good, and my hands looked noticeably sloppy. Trying to give the situation some grace, I left thinking I’d just deal with it—but the longer I looked at my nails, the more frustrated I felt. I called immediately to request a refund and was told to come back to have the gel removed. Even then, the staff member handling the refund was rude, practically slamming the receipt down instead of handing it to me. This was my second or third time visiting, and based on this experience, I’m done. If Tuyen was not actually available, the person who answered the phone should never have booked me. Instead, my time was wasted, I was treated disrespectfully, and the service quality was poor. I ended up going to Clayton Nail in Richmond Heights afterward, where I received exactly what I originally wanted. The tech there had to redo my nail shaping and cuticles, which only reinforced my impression that Central West End Nail simply did not care about the quality of their work or about me as a customer. I will not be back.

Twin does the most beautiful nail shape and design! I went to her for an acrylic set with custom art and stiletto shape then have gone back to get dip with coffin shape and she killed it both times. Price is super reasonable too, can't wait to go back for my next set!

I came to this nail salon on a whim when we were in town and had a great experience! Twin was my manicurist and she was so much fun to talk to and work with. My nails look absolutely perfect after working with her! 10/10 recommend!!
