Visited to see what they had in store for a range of ports ei Nintendo D's, Xbox ect. Good selection on show. Was a clean store when I'd visited, so nice to see,.
Please be careful when buying from them because I just bought a Deathadder Essential mouse for my girlfriend for Christmas and as soon as I tested it on Synapse it couldn't recognise it at all. I looked online and my own REAL deathadder mouse and realised the mouse i bought for my girl was a fake. I took it to Pontypridd store and without a second look they immediately declared it a fake. They were kind enough to give me a refund but dont buy from this store, just get it from amazon.
I haven’t been in a CeX store for a long time but recently I got a replacement Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold directly from Google that I don’t want (that’s a whole other story) and decided I would trade it in to CeX and get myself a Samsung S25 Ultra. At the Cardiff St David’s store I hand it over to the young person behind the counter (who, might I add, had impeccable dental hygiene, very clean trimmed fingernails and was clearly excited to serve me!). He opens the box and takes the protective paper off the phone then runs his ever-so-clean fingernails over the inner screen before declaring that there is a mark on the screen and this will be a B grade. I actually thought he was making a joke until I noticed the vacant expression on his face. Nope. Fully serious. Had this person actually just clearly marked my phone screen and then told me I would get less money for it because of it?? I actually couldn’t believe what was happening. The manager was called over who tried to claim it might be a manufacturing fault. Yeah sure. This £1900 phone comes out of the factory with fingernail marks on it. Sure mate. I took the phone back and, obviously, didn’t sell it there. As I was leaving I heard a very sarcastic “Thank you!”. Glad to see CeX and the professionalism of its staff hasn’t changed. I have since contacted their customer service team who set out from the start to prove me wrong rather than actually help, coming back to me to tell me that the member of staff said he didn’t do it (helpful) and that they were wearing a glove when they inspected the phone. Yes, they were but not on the hand they rubbed all over the screen! I’m completely done with CeX and won’t be buying or selling anything there again. Not that their CS care about that.
Lovely customer service from Alex! Let me pick their brain about everything relating to my iPad purchase and were incredibly patient + helpful! Thank you! Will definitely be back for any future tech purchases 🙌🏼
