Cool people here, place was very clean and the bouldering walls were very fun and challenging. Got a membership my first time here!
Second visit to Chambers. My partner and I are primarily boulders so this gym nailed it. Great feature wall and good setting. I was especially surprised about how enjoyable the comp setting was which we're up during this visit. They were somewhat compy but didn't heavily focus on paddle dynos but still offered challenging moves.
Wonderful staff and clientele—so much positivity and encouragement! As clean as a climbing gym can be, and they change up their routes frequently enough to keep it interesting, have projects, and not get bored. Parking is rough, but go on off hours and you'll be fine.
The grading at this gym is for more of intermediate to veterans. There are some routes that are for Beginners, but they are far in between. I suggest going to Bloc Garden Location, which is more suited for beginners and those who want to start out! The parking lot is really small 15 car max, so be prepared to park in the streets or ride share to the bouldering gym. It's small, but the real prize for this gym is the overhangs, which make this gym ideal for more technical and technique climbs.
If you want boulders, only boulders and a bunch of them then this is the place to climb. Right from the start chambers was nice, real nice. Wide open lobby, clean, and not cluttered. Check in was smooth, yet surprisingly only one worker was present. I suggest doing waivers online to speed up the check in process. Interesting that there was no safety video or any rules yet made for a quicker check in. Price typical for most climbing facilities. Chambers does a good job maximizing space. Minimalist design with shelving units for bags and shoes allows for more open space. The bathrooms were super clean and had a nice touch with chalk soap. The retail area was present yet not stuffed or taking over climbing space. The climbing area had a good amount of padding from the wall to the floor and a good amount of seats to rest. The routes were well designed and had clear starting and ending. From simple to advanced there were a great assortment of climbing variations. The holds were in great condition and not slick. The pads were in great condition and never did we feel uncomfortable with the falls. Overall the design of Chambers allows many people to be climbing at once due to the high number of climbs. One surprising note is there was only one employee for the entire facility. There were probably 75-100 people for one employee. Most facilities have other staff walk around making sure rules are enforced. I mention this as there were quite a few places like the cave where I often saw others under climbers partially due to the cave design. Overall Chambers is a must stop boulder visit, well if you like boulders!
